Love these Glen, is the water color natural? if not, how did you do it?

Thanks Rafael. Yes, the colour is natural. I do not typically enhance colour in visible spectrum photos, but I do use Lightroom and Color Efex to emphasize how colourful the scene was.

Here are a few more shots from that Day at Little Qualicum River, first two from the 20 f/3.5 UD, third one from the 135 f/2.8 QC.

Interesting film Huss, very unique colors - a Ferrari 250 we will never see cruising Escondido!
I really want to do film but the development stops me, do not live near any place that does it.

Do you live in Escondido? If so, NorthCoastPhoto.com in Carlsbad is only 25 minutes from you.

And if you want to do B&W, that is super easy to do at home. I use Cinestill Df96 Monobath which is one reusable solution (up to 16 rolls per bottle) that does everything. All you need is a dev tank and a changing bag.

Pretty ethereal images, well used 55mm 1.2! what serial number range is it Lika?

Rafael,

Thank you for your comment. At 1.2, even with a circular pol, highlights do want to get the halo around, so I can see how it appears ethereal. It adds mystery to the image which I really like. It is Nikkor-S Auto and I think the serial number is in the 230,000 range if I am looking at it correctly, It is on the front of the lens. I got this from another MFNG FMer a while back.

Leighton, loved that rocker. Too hot even for that these days. Huss, always love the film work. I still have 20-30 rolls in the fridge but I’ve lost most of my film motivation.

Still working through some shots from the 4th, around town in Southport with the Series E 50mm.

Some daylilies in front of the house. We bought these a couple of years ago from a vendor at the market that used to bring dozens every week for a month. They had a huge plot of them. I was telling them on Saturday how beautiful they were right now and when they would start bringing theirs to sell. They told me the deer had eaten every one of them.

The deer population has really grown in our part of the state, in fact, I'm watching 2 fawn outside while I'm typing this.

Nice shot. Love all your work.

Man, I though Hong Kong was pretty decent, but you live in the most target rich environment on the planet I reckon. I’m gonna retire there and just walk the streets forever

And one more for the day. This from my destination. Crazy humid and too much cloud cover to get the black skies using the IR filter. Also a disadvantage of using a filter vs a converted camera is the requirement of long exposure times. This shot was 3 seconds and got a lot of motion blur in the trees. Will try again another day, but I know I can do better with some more practice.

Same camera/lens combo but with a 720nm IR filter.

George, I absolutely love this shot!

For car culture, SoCal is great. And the quality of light is perfect for C41 film. But for ‘street’ photography involving people, it does not compare to places like NYC, Chicago etc. Because as the song goes, nobody walks in LA… apart from me.

Leighton, I a getting my cataract surgery in August, it is the season! I still see quite well but the ophthalmologist says they are bad and in any case they are not getting better. Some anxiety as good vision is extremely important to me.

Raphael, in 2015 I was in the same boat except I was actually advised I was glaucoma suspect. The cataracts were the suspected culprits. I was fortunate that was indeed the case. They build pressure in your eyes as they grow which can lead to other issues. My surgery was followed by strabismus surgery for damage to my right eye in a car accident my senior year in high school. When all was done, my vision was better than 20/20 and my eye pressure was normal, no glaucoma. I had four wonderful years of my new vision until 2019 when I had an occipital stroke that partially effected my vision. I am finding the new to me mirrorless Z cameras work rather well with the MF lens and make focusing a lot easier. We shall see, pun intended!

Interesting OOF rendering on this. Any idea what aperture was used?
