Anyone create a custom lens profile for their MF Nikkors?
I find on my tele lenses (300/4.5, 400/5.6, 600mm/5.6) that unless I am stopped down significantly, I get a light fall-off profile that cannot always be fully corrected in ACR, usually leaving artifacts in the final image when I have to really stretch the curves, raise contrast, etc.
I assume one needs to take a well exposed image of a uniform scene, measure the light fall-off and then generate a profile that corrects it exactly. But how does one do that AND get that into ACR or Photoshop?

I looked through the list of lenses and there are some AI/AIS lenses already profiled. Not many though. I use a program called Darktable (Mac and Linux only) and there are a ton of the NMFG lense profiles there. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to move them over to ACR/Lightroom.
I need to make profiles for my:
300/4.5 ED AI
400/5.6 AD AI
600/5.6 ED-IF AIS
What's happening is that if I substantially reduce the vignetting/light fall-off at the periphery of the image I get a "hot spot" in the center, no matter what amount of amount or midpoint settings can make it go away. This is for significantly manipulated images where the post-processing accentuates the light fall-off characteristics of the lens.
A shot I took last year, and had printed on canvas, got selected for a very selective art show here in town. Only 25 artists selected, so I'm super excited, but super nervous. I have to sit at the venue tonight that my photo is going to be on display for the next two weeks, and "talk about my art". The photo I shot, I took with the ancient D3 and 24-70 lens, and since I'd left my tripod in the car, handheld it on a rail for the 2 second exposure Winner gets a small cash prize and a gallery display. There's some sort of voting thing online, so I'll post that link when they make it live.

Way to go Laura! I'm looking forward to the chance to vote for your image!
In kit building news, I need to confess that my little spending spree has not quite ended yet (Does it ever, really? You could almost think that kit building is forever!). So far it has included the following items (and it is winding down, I promise ):
Fuji X-T2 with vertical grip (package deal)
Miscellaneous X-T2 accessories
180 f/2.8 Ai-s (to replace the one I had with a small nick in the front element)
135 f/3.5 QC (hood on its way)
TC-14A
Lens Turbo II focal reducer
HN-9 hood (so I no longer need to share one between my 20 f/3.5 UD and PC-Nikkor 28 f/3.5).
I'll post some gear photos in the near future; but I'll be working this weekend, so it'll have to wait a while. In the meantime, here are a few more photos from Lake Superior, this time in colour. The first two are from the 16 f/3.5 Ai, but I don't recall which lens I used for the third shot.

Beautiful work, Glen. I really like the last one. I'm going down that Fuji road, too. I just bought an X-T20. I hope to get to actually use it a little next weekend.
In support of Reagan's sentiment, I stubbornly stuck with the green dot on the Nikon Df to get a somewhat in-focus and steady picture of this photogenic butterfly stubbornly hanging on to the flower in fierce winds.
Thanks everyone, the link to the voting is now live. After suffering at the pub, the smell of good food zipping by me at all angles, I went to my daughter's house for dinner. Left there late, and came home, got about 9 hours of sleep in a row, amazingly Off to do laundry and get the house somewhat whipped into shape, too.
As Curtis is fond of saying, kit building is forever Mine grew at a rapid pace, but I'm happy with what I have now, at least for the time being.

Too bad we can't give you all 3 of the votes. I tried to just pick yours and submit, but it wants two more.

Hello everyone. I've got 50+ plus pages to catch up on since my last visit. Work has been taking up most of my time.
The other thing that happened is my laptop was stolen out of my car on July 3rd. Most of my files were backed up except for late May and June. I lost photos of my son and his prom date ☹️. I've been using a spare laptop form the office but have not installed Lightroom. A new one came yesterday but I need to wait to have all the office software installed before I cand mess with it.
