Posting a photo of a tree that I have wanted to shoot for about a year. It is a South Carolina "Champion Tree" meaning it is the largest known in the state for a particular species. This is a Bur Oak and is located on Clemson University campus. I have tried several times but never could get a clean shot without people or cars and getting a good angle on the tree. I wasn't planning on going by there today and only had one camera and one lens and definitely not the combo I ever thought about using
Below is a 6 shot stitched pano using the minuscule Nikkor 2.5cm f/4 M39 (Leica) mount adapted to the Z8. This lens is from the 1950's and according to the Photosynthesis serial number database only about 500 were made in M39 mount.
Since everything was closed on campus today, the parking lot was empty and nobody wandering around in the afternoon heat and humidity. Except a crazy guy with a camera
This shot still does not capture the size of the tree, but it is quite a site to see.
I can't do any sharing of images at the moment as my laptop is having a graphic card issue. With that in mind, I ordered a M2 Mac Mini yesterday to replace it. To be honest, I never was keen on editing images on such a small screen. It will be nice to go back to a large monitor again.
Leightion,
I was looking at one of those so will be interested in your impressions. My desktop PC is quite old now and is temperamental at times so was exploring options.

I'll let you know how I like it once I've edited some pics. I can tell you that my M1 Macbook Air is MUCH MUCH quicker than my MBP with the intel processor. I am expecting the Mac Mini to be even better.

I bet that M2 Mini will fly. I’m editing on a MBA M2 and am constantly amazed how well it does with Lightroom … and everything tbh. I finally upgraded my 2014 iMac last week after 8 years of faithful service. Picked up a Studio Display to pair with the MBA M2 and am pretty happy with it. It has inbuilt colour profiles you can choose including one for photography which also locks in the correct brightness. It was pricey but if it lasts as long as my iMac I’ll be pretty happy

I thought about the new 15" MBA, but I decided I wanted to go back to a desktop. I never took my laptop off my desk anyway. Plus, even if I just bought a monitor, keyboard and mouse to go with a laptop, it was way more than the Mac Mini set-up.
Love the idea of the Studio Display, but it was out of my budget.

Did you buy your stuff in HK? Was it cheaper?
I wish the 15" MBA was available when I bought my 13.6" but doesn't matter. Very happy with it anyway but a little extra realestate would have been nice.
You've made a fine choice with the Mini I reckon. It crazy how fast that thing can be configured. It's up in the top foive on Geekbench. Great selection of ports as well.
The Studio Display is expensive, but if it lasts as long as my iMac did it'll be money well spent. Tbh, I would have preferred another 27" iMac but none exist and I definitely wanted a 27" screen so there wasn't much choice if staying with Apple. All good though. Yeah, bought it in HK. Same price as in the States. Not sure if Aus is any more dearer either.
I think you actually bought a monitor not too long ago?
Better post one of the Mrs. She still hasn't divorced me
Took this at King's Beach on a 20k hike along the Waitpinga Cliffs around 100km south of Adelaide. Easy/flat but beautiful hike.
F3HP & 35/1 OC. Ektar 100. Self scanned.
I just don't get Ektar sometimes. A lot of landscape shots from this hike look weird (in terms of colour) ... I take a portrait ... and the colours look half decent God knows.
