Sorry to hear this Peter. I hope you stick around though! Getting old isn't for sissies.

I anyone is iterested in picking up one or more of my MF lenses, please look at my profile. My son is in SA at the moment and will be back in PA early January and will sell and ship on my behalf.
Reasonable offers will be accepted as i no longer see well enough to use MF.

Thanks Laura - you're right.
This year my prescription has changed from mildly short sighted to slightly far sighted with a bit of double vision thrown in! Fortunately with glasses I can tell that there's only one car coming towards me!
I guess though that all good things come to an end but i'll definitely continue to lurk, like and occasionally comment.

In keeping with George's "keep things moving" sentiment, here are a few from my yet-to-be-exhausted IR collection from the Forbidden Plateau, all three of which are brought to you by the 24 f/2.8 NC.
Glen you are getting creative with your toning in a very nice way.

Thank you!
You mean there will be winter time sooner over there?
In HCMC, we have only dry and rainy seasons in year. Which is to say, Lotus blooms most of the year.
I take this shot at longest end. Behind the lotus pond is pleasant green grass hill, which is enable pink color out. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52563681543_9cdca2f717_o.jpg_D5N7764in by blurrist lump, on Flickr
I own two 50-300mm ED ais, because methinks it is a great lens, but I NEVER thought of using it for bokeh, well done Phong, really good colors too.
I think someone turned a light in an adjacent room on, so the illumination is not comparable, but compare everything else, that is why I should not test.
The listing price was average for its condition, no deal there. The lens is also the ai type, not the ais, fewer aperture blades.
The 58mm 1.2 is a great lens and I envy those that have it but I refuse to pay $3,600 for it, rather get a Micro or Ultra Micro Nikkor 125mm or 150mm, a 18cm 2.5 rangefinder, a COM/REPRO/FAX Nikkor other rare lens.
Rafael, many years ago i purchased a Nikon 180 F2.5 rangefinder lens in the original red velvet box with the NF lens adapter from a dealer in Scottsdale Arizona. I bought it cheap as the store didnt want to deal with it. I sold it to Robert Rotoni thru my Shutterbug ad. He called me and chatted about the lens.
He was very happy with the find and price. This should bring a smile, shortly after the sale i was in Dels Camera in Santa Barbara and mentioned it. They (whom claimed to be the top Nikon experts) said Nikon never made a 180 F2.5 lens?

Thanks for sharing this historic 18cm tale Harry. I ran across an 18cm in mint condition, with shade and N to F adapter on ebay a couple of years back, made the mistake of making an offer and lost it. Should have used buy it now, the price was right. Ah well.
The 18cm is one of the most elegant lenses out there, will keep looking - but it has to be mint.
A Downy Woodpecker visited yesterday during a 12 inch snow blizzard. 5DS-R with the Nikkor 600mm f5.6 ais @ iso 800. Considering the flat light, less than ideal shutter speed (1/400th), iso, and a constantly flinching subject - I feel pretty lucky about these.
A little bit struggling with my Nikkor 500mm F/4 P this morning. I started attaching lens to my D5 and the aperture ring did not take effect.
Googled it and find the solution: Menu -> Custom settings menu -> Controls -> Customize command dials -> Aperture settings -> Aperture ring -> OK done.
And it's amazing, all EXIF recorded properly. _D5N7960in by blurrist lump, on Flickr

Met Robert at the Nikon history conference in Philadelphia about 6 years ago. Nice fella, and of course has very deep knowledge about everything Nippon Kogaku. Have his Nikon book - great reference and fun to read.
Raphael, Point of order as they say in discussion to make a point during the discussion. The number of aperture blades in a NOCT isn’t relevant as its best performance is when it’s shot wide open. The differences between an Ai or AiS is really moot.
I generally shoot mine wide open and don’t know what others do with theirs. I find that I use the Exposure Compensation button to “electronically” stop it down when needed.
