Buddy, it's great to have you back here and posting images; it's always a joy to see your beautiful forest photos (as well as your dog and your rapidly growing daughter--I remember when she was still just a promising protrusion in Kristina's abdomen!). I hope Kristina will keep posting as well, even if it does need to be under her alias as the mysterious strohbleumlein!

Andy, the results you are getting from your GFX are absolutely stunning! That medium format resolution makes the photos seem like I could reach into my monitor and touch the subject matter. And your framing and composition are excellent, as always.

Martin from Namibia, welcome back to the thread. That is some very fine work you've been doing with the 55mm and the 28mm!

With respect to my newly realized (and growing) interest in infrared photography, I have decided to interlace my IR images with some regular, visible spectrum photos taken at the same location, just for the sake of comparison. Thus, like all of the IR images I have posted recently, the seven photos below were taken in the Forbidden Plateau area, west of Courtenay, BC. They were shot with the 105 f/2.5 P, the 50 f/1.2 Ai-s (x3), and the 35 f/1.4 Ai-s (x3) on the Fuji X-T4 (see the captions to know which lens was used for each shot).

Jim, I was at Fishtown less than 2 weeks ago, and your wonderful shots have made me think I need to revisit LR to check out black & white. Unfortunately AF lenses only on that day.

Martin, that's quite a landscape just two blocks from your home. Always enjoy the quality lighting you capture!

Andrew, once again thanks for letting me travel virtually with good pics and narrative. Especially like the looks of the Duke of Marlborough Hotel and Whaler, and the last landscape shot.

These are from July 2013 - about a month after getting the 35mm f1.4 ais. It has been a few years since I have been back, and I miss the area a great deal. Not Leland as much since it lost those gigantic cottonwood trees in 2013, but mostly the forest, shoreline and trails.

When time allows I will post some photos taken with manual Nikkor lenses. I have some.

I have been, and am, busy in painting, crafts and sculpture among other things. There seems to be a healthy demand for the things I make, so I also attend some events where I mostly portray the work and get in tough with people who either would just like to chat, or who'd like to commission some work.

One of the most recent commissions was a pair of dice made of mammoth ivory, and those, along with a recent painting will be auctioned at an event in Leeuwarden, NL on the 5th and 6th of November
