Hopefully he didn't show you proof that it was a kilt and not a skirt....

I visited the North Georgia mountains again today and ran into this gentleman at Neel Gap on the Appalachian Trail. I asked if I could take his photo and then we chatted for a few minutes. He said that everyone calls him Whittle and that he pretty much lives on the AT. I asked why he wears a kilt and he said that it's more comfortable and less confining that pants. He said he would hike naked if he could get away with it!

The 10mm OP is stuck in customs, it is kind of painful. Needed to send info and wait for DHL to submit the formal application, wait for the assessment, pay...... process in progress......If they scratch it I will sue the executive branch!
Here are my RF nikkors that fit the S3, I ran an old slide roll through it and sent it in for development.
The condition of these lenses is like new, except for the 85mm 2.0 which has a lot of small chrome scratches but perfect glass. I do have a like new 85mm 2.0 and 105mm 2.5 but in LTM.
Anyone wants to trade my 85mm 2.0 LTM and/or a 10.5cm 2.5 LTM for S mount?
Taken with 70mm 1:5 Micro.
From left: 2.8cm 3.5, 3.5cm 3.5 on S3 Millennium, 50mm 1.4 Millennium, 8.5cm 2.0, and 13.5cm 3.5 MIOJ.
Simple photos with large window light. All my lenses get a protective filter, for 43mm the only decent option is B&W.
I had a similar situation with a 55mm f1,2 sent to me from someone here in the group. It not only got stuck, but eventually returned without ever being offered to me. That was also a real bummer. I hope you will receive that 10mm lens soon, without the heartgrief I had about the 55mm f1,2. Still have not found a suitable replacement for it.
Below however are some photo's taken with the, new to me, 35-70 f3,5 Ai-S, which also proves to be a real gem
Anouk next to some funghi we saw in the woods today

Ray, I enjoyed your pictures of the lighthouse a few pages back and have a similar offering from Big Bay Light House in Michigan. ventured up the narrow steps to get these. Quite the climb.
The owner told me the Fresnel lens pictured first are valued at a half million dollars. They are hand cut and over 100 years old. Whooda thunk!!

These are excellent photos from the 35-70mm 3.5 Buddy, very smooth background with a busy forest.
The 10mm OP has supposedly cleared customs and 'processed' through the Los Angeles center, come Monday I will get an update about movements. I am confident it will find its way here, but hate not being in control of something so simple!

Just love those Fresnel lenses, thanks for sharing Ken.
These are a nice use of this lens. So glad you are back posting lately and keep 'em coming!
Mary
Thank you Mary and Rafael,
I have been very busy with other branches of art in the past few years, and thus had less time to spend on photography. Buying this neat little piece of erious manual focuing glass kind of got me back into it, but I still have a huge log of commission work to finish in the next 30+ months.
Great collection from the 55 Buddy. That crop of mushrooms in incredible!
Ken, $1/2 Mil, better be careful not to bump into that Fresnel lens! Looks great, must have been quite some craftsmen involved. Your shot really make the lens look brilliant!
Love the kilt, Scott. May be freeing but what about when it gets cold?
George, full frame ZF would only be interesting if paired with an F-mount adapter that would allow shooting aperture recording.
Keep the fall color coming, northern Scott. It inspires me to get out.
Not the 55. All of those photos were taken using the 35-70 f3,5 Ai-S. Admittedly, I don't bother stopping down. Wide open that lens already delivers all the quality I could wish for. I just really enjoy the close focus ability at 70mm. But the lens also shines at 50 and 35mm, even if the close focus range is not available in those settings.

I have just had a very pleasurable catch up of the last 5 or so pages. Some great images of nature and colour of many variety.
The medium format, fuji colours and the OLED screen of my new ASUS Zenbook are amazing. Not sure how they look on your screens though?
I'm now in NZ and have been here a week, travelling around the north of the North Island or as it's now known again Aotearoa.
I began in Auckland and travelled North to Russell and stayed the night in the Duke Of Marlborough Hotel which has an interesting history (although the current building is the 3rd on the site, the other 2 having burned down).
I really wanted this place to be open so I could go back in the evening but it's still early season so not open yet (note British post box in the fence)
