My daughter was back for a short time, and told me that she's due to graduate the Friday of Thanksgiving week. She'll have her Masters in hand that day. Not sure I can swing the funds to venture over there though... but I'm gonna try!

Laura,
Do it! The $$$ is very strong against the £££ at the moment and I can't see why that would change much in the next 4 months given world events and the UK's current political turmoil. November is off season too. Come on over.......
DX sensor in deep shadow, plus the 1 or 2 stop loss due the IR filter, makes for a high ISO image.
Ended up a bit grainy after I pulled out the shodows a bit.
Need the passport first... then the ticket . And I saw that Delta Airlines had to have a special flight just to bring over luggage from Heathrow...

Great work from everyone as far as I can see
Siphiwe, nice set of varied subjects with the DF. You seem to be getting out and about outside the garden, great stuff.
It is summer so time for some water and floating vessels. George might be familiar with this colorful Connecticut town.

Not me going to theimpossibledream.org and spending a great deal of time there. Wonderful organisation. Thanks for sharing, Serge. Yip, been out and about with the fam. Reduces the self-consciousness I feel just walking about with a camera by myself.

Thank you George. First time trying out the MF Nikkors on people in the dark. I normally just rely on the AF but any excuse to handle Df, which doesn't get used with AF lenses much. I wish the 50 had a tighter focus ring but hoping to get better at it over time. It's my fastest lens. After not nailing the eyes often I switched to the lips, which have nice defnition due to the way my eldest smiles. I had a brother who succumbed to AIDS at 28 years old. We were tight, like glue. Twelve years later I ended up with a son who looks just like him, mannerisms like him, smiles like him, teeth like his. People say he is my copy but all I see is my brother. Anyway, picture makes me happy too.

Good to see you again. Still the same issue as a couple of years ago? Is there anything they can do?
