Hi everyone - will you allow an old alumnus back? Leighton suggested I come "home" seeing as I'm using my nikkors again; the nikkor S 50mm f1.4 (the first pic) and the 105mm f2.5 AIS (second pic).

You want to come back? !!
Of course you're welcome, good to see you haven't lost your touch, Ben.
The water gate was probably built around 1492, at the same time as the city wall around the city. The gate served to close the water access to the city. In 1613 the gate was reconstructed into a decorative gate because it had no military function anymore. From that moment on, the gate has its current appearance.
It's pretty famous.
In a recreation park n at the Chinese city of Shenyang there are three replicas of the Waterpoort.
Also in the Japanese theme park Huis ten Bosch near Nagasaki is a replica.
In Madurodam (miniature Holland) is a model of the Waterpoort, built in 1976.
In Legoland, in Denmark Billund is also a model. This is entirely made of Legostones.
The Waterpoort is pictured on the ace of spades in a standard Dutch card deck.

Not much new stuff from me lately. I got an offer I couldn't refuse on a 24" printer and have been spending most of my photo time trying to get up to speed.
Here are few older 50/1.2 shots that were recently re-processed using Silver Efex Pro. The location is the Santa Fe train depot in San Diego. The metal blocks are elements of a sculpture by Richard Serra.

See, I knew they'd welcome you back. For some reason, Curtis has mentioned on here that he won't respond on Flickr, so I gave up. Maybe he'll holler at you on here.

maybe he won't respond on Flickr because he can't work the pedals. He's not a young man you know and these new fangled sites might have him bamboozled.
Reagan - I thought you were going to give me more stick. I thought you'd at least say something about nikon lenses on nikon cameras.
But it's great to be back. I've gone back over the last 30 - 40 pages - lots of great images and stories to catch up on.

Reagan has begun his more kinder and gentler stage.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!! Fuji with nikon lenses (cause Leighton sneaks in his favourite nikon 50 - 135 quite a bita) - or straight out Fuji with Fuji lenses?
But didn't I read - oh about 30 or 40 pages back - that you were buying a D500 or something? Sheesh, you turn your back for 5 minutes and the place goes to the dogs.

Curtis just left on a trip to Minny Ha Ha. He hasn't been quite so active on the computer in the last several months, either, so it's not you.
welcome back
really?? - but I've seen his posts in the last 20 or so pages.....and anyway, the internet has reached minny surely - I intend to take it very personally if he doesn't respond soon. I have his address and I may need to send him a stern note.
Thank you all for your comments. I got more creative juices flowing after the rain slightly subsided. The next couple of shots were also taken within the house from my deck using the 55mm f3.5 on D610.
