George,
An enlarging lens did THAT! If so I am kicking myself, because I sold that lens in 2005 with the box, and plastic bubble for $37.50. arghgggghhhh

Lovely low-light image - btw

Getting ready for the spring season. Loaded some fresh line.
DF w/ EL-NIKKOR 135/5.6 on the PB-4 Bellows. Swung the lens right to isolate the focus a little bit.
Yes, single shot f/11 with swing on the bellows to narrow the focal plane. That lens will infinity focus on the PB-4 bellows too.

I really like the aspect ratio on this shot Ray. You are right, the sky looks very good.

At the river this morning. Back to the older days of film where underexposure helps the sky colors, though this time done digitally. 105mm f2.8 AIS.

Thanks, trying to push Ray over the edge
Those are really nice winter scenes Serge.
62 degrees here today, but I am hoping we get one more snow before the winter is over. I am sure you folks north are tired of it.

I stepped up to the edge today, an online search over lunchtime showed the relative rarity of S lenses (and associated pricing). I think perhaps Curtis had it right regarding old Nikkors, the F mounts are where the supply and relative deals are. Not that the thoughts are not bouncing in my head, a set of S's in 28mm, 50mm, and 85mm sounds like a splendid set to go on a walkabout.
The old S and LTM lenses took off a few years ago it seems. Before the mirrorless cameras became widespread they were much easier to find and a lot cheaper too.
I got a number of mine at a brick and mortar shop that deals with a lot of used gear. I went in and asked if they had some old S glass and they had some in a cardboard box in a filing cabinet in a storage room. Seriously. Really dusty and in need of a CLA, but the one in the picture above is one from that box.
They are still out there, but the hunt is much more challenging.
Thanks for the comment on the other shot

Yesterday with the 85mm f1.4 ais + tc-16a - some black (void) kitties. I find they are a really good challenge for focusing.

Wow. I have never seen that style of racing before. Is that what the 2 man bobsled people do when there is no snow and they have had too much caffeine?
Incredible shots with the old lens. I am sure 99.9% of it has to do with the person behind the camera
George
Sidecar racing George. Are you familiar with the Isle of Man TT races? 37 mile long laps on public roads at speeds of up to 200+ mph ! They have sidecar races. Sidecar racers are like the drummers of bike racing, a bit mad !

Thanks, George.
I am fairly certain that we will get snow before old man winter decides to call it the day.
Speaking of the w-Nikkors, the new Voigtlander Heliar 40/2.8 looks like a reincarnation of the Nikon design. Good to see that someone still makes great looking lenses and perhaps these will offer some price competition.
