I am really tired of adapting lenses. The results are always with a few exceptions below expectations. Lenses made for 35mm may work on medium format, but with compromises. Likewise using them on crop sensors removes some of the desired characteristics of the old lenses. At least for me they do.
Quality control of the various adapters are typically hit or miss and "getting what you pay for" does not hold true all the time.
And if I am really honest with myself, I really don't like the whole EVF mirrorless experience with adapting lenses. For me, nothing beats an optical viewfinder. Especially a split prism finder. Fortunately my eyesight is still good enough (corrected) to still use them. I am sure that one day it will not and I will address that then.
As our founder said, kit building is forever. So I think my "kit" is going to go through a radical transformation in 2022. Back to OVF and little if any lens adapting. *I don't consider LTM > M really adapting with the minuscule M ring and the lens actually engages the rangefinder focusing mechanism. So will still use the Nikkor LTM lenses on Leica.
But for the F mount glass it will be the Df (Nikon on Nikon).
Medium format will be Pentax 645Z with its optical viewfinder along with the Pentax glass I was adapting to the Fuji.
As for mirrorless, I will probably keep the Z fc with two native Z lenses, but no adapting.
All subject to change depending on which way the wind is blowing
Those thoughts don't appear to be random in any way but an educated appraisal of where you are at with your kit ensemble.
Native Z lenses on a Z camera is the direction I have been pulled towards since I got a Z6.
I don't particularly enjoy using MF lenses coupled to the FTZ but I do enjoy the output such combos can produce.
Having said that the gorgeous 135/2 images of late had me trawling the net looking for one with a longer term view to picking up D850 at some point.
Too much choice and too many ways to play this game.
I like the evf wrt to exposure but the peak focus is crap for me, give me back the green dot. I don't have any Z lens and the only one that interests me is the 40mm (I blame Colin), so I will always adapt the F's both manual and AF.
The Series E lenses don't get much love here and mostly for good reason. However, the 50mm pancake and the 100mm are the exceptions to the rule, if you've never tried them. I owned a 100mm previously, but sold it for some reason. I was bored and looking at lenses on ebay last week and came across a 100mm with a very stiff focus ring and whose aperture blades were stuck . It was being sold as a parts/not working lens, so I picked it up really cheap. I spent a few hours over the weekend and disassembled and cleaned it. The aperture blades were oily and the grease on the helicoid was dry. After a good cleaning and lube, it works like new. The sample is just a quick grab, but I hope to get out and put it to the test next week.

David - Agree 100% with the green dot. Big miss.
Colin - the FTZ II's are shipping here in the US. Maybe that form factor without the tripod mount bulge would be better?

I will do away with the Fuji XT-4, in theory its a great camera, in practice with adapted lenses it leaves a lot to be desired for me and I know the net result will be that I will just work with the other cameras I have. Perhaps the metabones I got for it is the cause of my dissatisfaction.
With MF, I am having really nice results now with the three adapters. The Loawa for the Nikkors is sweet with a wide angle I tried, the real test will be the 15 3.5. I don't know if I will be able to just do away with the metabones for Nikkors, just have to see. The 6x6 Nikkors seem to be really nice as well with the Fotodiox. I am really digging the MF Fuji, just something about it works for me!
The D850 is a keeper for my AF lenses when I want to really make sure there are no compromises.
The DF is the camera of choice when it comes to all those Nikkors I have on the shelves, lol I only pray it lasts forever or somehow someway Nikon makes a 24 or 36MP version of us loyalists. I know, its a pipe dream and will never happen.
I still have some MF Glass for Leica, mostly Voigtlander, and a Besa R4 I need to play with, and there is the S3 and some RF lenses to explore as well. I do have a roll in the S3 I an working on.. you know, shotting film needs good light and my schedule and good light doesn't seem to be syncing lately. I suppose it would make sense to sell off the Leica Glass with the Fuji.
There is just never enough time. I need to be retired so I can use it all, lol.

Scott, great find! The 135 2.8 series E was my first manual Nikkor, at that time I had just started using the D800. It was an excellent lens and got me going on the slippery slope.

I've been watching cricket since 1981 and still have no idea where half of the fielding positions are
A few years ago I worked near someone who wanted to learn cricket and drew them out the field positions for him on a blackboard (at least what I remembered), and he's gone on to follow cricket a lot more closely than I do now.
Nikon should do a heavily discounted exchange for any FTZ owners wanting the FTZII and a free swap for those with the battery grip (yes, that'd be me folks)

I think you're saying out loud what many of us go through from time to time. I know I have certainly done the same thing when I made the switch from Fuji to Nikon.
In fact, I've even entertained the thought of selling everything and buying one small fixed lens camera. But, I just can't leave sharing images with this group of people, so it really is just a passing thought.
As for the use of adapters with these lenses, that hasn't bothered me at all since I started using a speedbooster.
The only way I think I'd come back to Nikon cameras is if they made a Zfc that was full frame and had IBIS.
Good luck sorting it all out and selling what you need too.
You have our permission as long as you keep posting on this thread!
I also miss the"Green Dot"
probably why I haven't posted lately focus peaking is not for me
photos will look like they are in focus but just a little off
I have the 45 ai-p that doesn't require it but the FTZ is annoying
I will keep the Z camera because of the VR in it and I love the Z lens
Going to sell all my Fuji stuff and maybe pick up a Dslr just for the green dot for my MF lens
If Scott doesn't make me sell all of them to him

Happy holidays Reagan and long live the green dot!! I have made my peace though with focus peaking (I kind of just tolerate it and go along).
George, also much prefer the optical viewfinder plus green dot. I find it much easier on the eyes and to focus. The advantage of the tiny mirrorless body in my case is super portability when traveling and seeing the exposure with the aid of a histogram. I am not crazy about using the bulky thick adapters but enjoy using the manual focus Nikkors.
I am with Leighton, a full frame Zfc design with IBIS would be a very tempting camera indeed.
Serg, really enjoyed the Xmas Decorations, so cool!
Andy, your a photo machine, enjoying the variety and quality you are bringing us!
Jay, the flowers have been a bright touch amongst the browns of fall I see here!
Scott, congrats on the E, your going to have fun with it!
James, it finally arrived lol, enjoyed the IR samples! That new lens looks awesome!
Rafael the fireplace looks awesome!
