I think any other reason, and we'd be hearing about it somehow. I choose to remain optimistic

Laura, I assume you're either joking or trying to shock us. Since I talk with Curtis at least weekly, I can assure you that he's still very much in possession of his Df and Nikkor lenses, just busy with other priorities at this time.

Fujifilm X-S10 + adapter + Nikkor 300mm f/4.5K ED non-IF hand held, ISO 640, f/5.6 at 1/400s. 61.5% cropped (16/26MP). No flash to avoid a startled or spooked bird, just using RAW to bring details from the shadows.
Ben, I am trying to imagine your positioning and posture while taking that shot with 28mm. BTW, your jig is up, the lady in the middle just caught you out I bet she wanted to tell you to lower your shutter speed Great mood in that scene.

On ebay i purchased an TC-16A modified converter from Jmvanauto in B.C. Canada. I set up my D700 per his instructions. My EXIF shows 145MM and the other seller is Leonasj in Litikiania and his instructions also show EXIF focal length reported is 145MM.My non CPU data is set correctly to the correct lens length etc. Is there some other set up that gives the correct focal length and aperture data in EXIF ?
Trying to make out what kind of bike that is. At first glance it had the resemblance of an antique Indian cycle from circa 1912, but quickly dismissed that with the disc brakes, but then saw the pedals and gas tank on it but no motor. Brooks saddle too. Maybe a hybrid build?

Samy - I shot it from the hip. It's a crop. The original shows a lot more of the buildings in the background.
Philippe - I'm repeating myself here because I know everyone's not on Flickr. It's such an amazing reflection shot, it actually almost doesn't seem to be a reflection because he's looking right at the camera. It's very surreal having objects and text floating around him. It's also a very dark pic. I think the Prince of Darkness crown has been taken.
I bought this venerable lens new in 1979 and it seems to find new life on my Df. It may not be quite as "bokeh-licious" as the more modern 105s, but I think it does an OK job, even at f4
Speaking of "California Dreaming". I am hoping to make it to Joshua Tree NP for the Geminids (Dec 14). It is almost guaranteed to be cloudy here, in western Montana.

Nice shot Doug. All variants of the 105/2.5 are good in my opinion. Good luck at Joshua Tree, that is a bucket list location for me one day. A lot of west coast locations on the list of this east coast guy
