Reminds me of a guy I used to work with when I was in UK and EU a lot for business. No matter where we were at, he would look for a Burger King and if in a pub or restaurant he would order Budweiser. We were surrounded by some of the best beer in the world and Budweiser??
When we were in Curaçao at a beach tiki bar
I asked for a local beer
all she could offer was a Amstel Light, Heineken or something called Polar
I had never tried a Polar Beer and after a couple I read the label and it was bottled in Florida
Went a long way for a local Florida beer

Retirement business opportunity. Let’s go to Curaçao and open a microbrewery.
Ray - nothing happened. That's a very busy street. I was just standing there, she appeared out of nowhere in an instant. I took the shot but I didn't know she had looked at me. I didn't even know if it was in focus (manual focus with moving subjects, most shots are out of focus, unless you're Philippe). I didn't see the man in the back at all. People kept passing, hundreds of people, I kept taking pics. That pic is a crop, a big crop. There were lots of other people in the shot. It was not a dramatic moment and there was no next moment, it was a constant flux.
George - maybe we don't need to go over to Mark's house right now, you know, we don't want that pumpkin bread to go to waste.
Actually, this one is version 2, as version 1 was taken out by the Blizzard of 1978. The town of Rockport had it rebuilt exactly to the original... they had enough photos and paintings of it even then...

Serge I always wondered if there was a Motif No. 2? Maybe just in back of No. 1?
Just caught up on the last 8 pages, viewing on my son's TV via hdmi from my laptop, some great stuff !
I have just driven 8000 kms, mainly to avoid New South Wales to get from my daughter's in Brisbane to my son's in Melbourne via Cairns to see my youngest (son). Gotta say, much more comfortable in a car !
I stopped at a Salt lake north of Port Augusta in South Australia.
That last one is amazing light Andy. 8000km is a lot of driving, even in a car vs. motorbike!! cadman342001 wrote:

George, the little Zfc and 55 3.5 did super well with those fungi.

Furthest I went to shoot today was a tree stump in the back yard woods. All the talk about the 55mm/3.5 made me want to try it on my Zfc.
So late in the day with one of those little folding pocket tripods gave this shot. That flippy LCD came in handy

Liking the Fuji more and more, however the shallower DOF is noticed with a crop sensor so I will need to embrace that more! The IS is superb!

Really nice composition and lighting. I have to think that the small 55mm F2.8/3.5's are perhaps the most versatile lenses in the Nikon MF lineup, at least as far as primes. If I could only have one prime it would be one of these. YMMV.

Andy, incredible series. I love the black and white rendering!

Thanks Leighton. I waited quite a while for the lighting. It was late in the day and 4sec exposure. That is the advantage of just taking a lazy day outside for a change.
The 55mm macro is a great lens. But I have only really used it for close up stuff and I really need to use it more for general purpose work. It is so light.
