Not the sharpest of images due to combating the internal reflections and the opaque glass used.
Stupidly I took the 135/2.8 on this trip. This is a lens I have always had trouble using reliably on my D610. Thought I'd give it a good run on the Z6 and I have come to the conclusion that the lens is out of whack and decentered (as well as needing a good internal clean). Left hand side in landsape orientation is not sharp.
I really do need to put to use all of those lens tools, grease, and JIS screwdrivers that I have been gathering.
Has anybody corrected a de-centered lens before? Will it be obvious or do you just have to take it apart, re-assemble and hope for the best?

Hey, this looks very much like a flower in our garden which is struggling at the moment. I think I posted a picture of it last summer in the Z50 thread here. Since you've titled it dessert flower, I suspect it needs lots of sun. It was in the sun but my finest moved it to partial shade, because the garden's hers . I have to find a way. It's a very unique plant with great flowers.
Siphiwe, that flower was in a desert room in a conservatory in Baltimore here. The room has a glass roof so sun streams in. It probably does need a lot of light. You are indeed lucky you get to have all that greenery and flowers in your backyard, that's a lot of work!

It is, indeed but like everything, variety is just as important. This pandemic won't give us a break. I think I've shot everything in the garden now.
I heard through the grapevine that I missed the party... the 11th anniversary of this thread. What can I say? At one time in my life I spoke about my mind as a steal trap but now it is much like a colander. Of course, I have seldom visited this thread in the last few years so I guess it is understandable August 22 slipped through the cracks. I note a reminder from Leighton in the PM inbox but for some reason the message never was passed along... or if it was I overlooked it. Thanks for trying Leighton.
If I have an excuse it may be that Sue's mother died a few weeks ago and I've been preoccupied supporting her in her role as trustee and executor for the estate. Photography has been a distant memory rather than a significant part of my life. But I did take a few photos, one of which I uploaded to Flickr so I could greet everyone WITH a photo, this taken with the 180 f/2.8 AI-s... one of my desert island lenses.
Hope everyone is well. I'm glad you're still finding some pleasure in hanging out on this thread. I still have a cabinet filled with manual focus lenses I love. They are worth celebrating in all the ways we do.

Welcome back to the dance, Curtis!
I am sorry for the issues you have been dealing with. As kids, we were all so anxious to grow up and become adults. Well, now that I'm all grown up, I am finding that is isn't always all its cracked up to be. Unfortunately, this is a one way street. The trade off is that we are supposed to gain "wisdom" along the way. Trouble is, the more I know, the more I know I don't know! .

Sorry to hear of Sue's mother. Glad you could find a minute to pop in to say hello, hope all is well with you.
Yes, the thread continues on, but not nearly at the pace that it once did.

Nice of you to stop bye and I hope all is well.
Thanks again for putting together such a wonderful thread.
