Great images with a very cool combo! Are those Swift Terns? Closest I can get from my SA bird app. The Osprey and Kestrel are also gorgeous.
Thanks for your kind words!
They are crested terns and are local permanent residents in my extended backyard.
Sounds like it could be a birthday present. Happy Birthday by the way
I am slowly warming up to this Z-FM contraption, the notion of making my 800mm 5.6 a 1200mm 5.6 is getting me there.
Thanks for the congrats! S mount lenses gratefully accepted as birthday gifts.
I have had my Z6 for 2 months and am slowly exploring its features.
I will be interested in seeing what you think of focus peaking. I know some people don't like it but I am a fan.
The stabilization works wonders for these old lenses. I assume that's what you meant in you comment.
I find the out of camera colors are much better than the older sensors.
Have fun!
Colin
Z6 Focus peaking is the only reason I kept an 800mm 5.6, when focusing on Birds the eye goes a brilliant red and you know you are in focus, every time.

I use the PC-E lenses to shift Focus on Table Top Images, to be able to shoot at around f11-14 and keep just what I want in focus, the rest, I don't care much about!!
This is one example
Yamil, if you are done with your samples, I will keep them for you.
Kidding aside, without knowing you I have been a fan of your photos. Just beautiful composition, light, focal control, and subject.

Nope, I work for Gun Magazines, at this time, I shoot for Guns & Ammo SIP Publications. For example, I had 5 features on "The Book of the AR" #3 for 2021 that is on the newsstands now.
Outstanding Yamil,
Firearms, especially vintage collectibles, are difficult to capture with the aim of getting the correct tones of the wood and bluing. I surround my shots with artificial light and as seen in your Wilson 1911 focus is critical. I rarely use a flash unless I bounce it.
I use AF lenses and they are the 60mm D Micro 2.8 and the 70-180 ED 3.5/5.6. I use them in manual focus.

Shot with the Nikon D600 and 55mm f/1.2 AI lens (8 sec, f/2.8, ISO 6400)
This is a mosaic of 48 photos, resulting in a final image that's equivalent to a single 352.3 megapixel photo taken with a 15mm f/0.76 lens. I really wish I could afford to switch over the Z system and get the 50mm f/1.2 S, but the old 55mm f/1.2 AI lens isn't too shabby.
I am not so sure about focus peaking, that little green dot is much missed, but the Z6 viewfinder is so bright and clear this capture of a fast moving subject across the frame was not terribly difficult. Focus adjusted in real time just looking at the letters on the plane.
Ric, fanstastic capture of Half Dome. I was going back and forth with what I got a couple years ago and I think yours is from a point of view a bit more to the left of where I was.
