Very nice George! I also ended up picking a Z fc instead of Z5; it should be here tomorrow and I'll report back. I have no idea what to expect. Never held a Nikon mirrorless. Just wanted something small and retro so I can play with MFNG again. The DX part kinda bothered me at first, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. We'll see

Nice! Will be good to have you back shooting the MFNG and contributing to the thread again
I was hesitant about the DX part, but quickly got over it. Hey, we are doing our part to show demand in this camera style and an eventual full frame. Justification for the purchase. However slight, right?

Since you asked about FM body... Here are some side by side.
And a couple showing how compact you can go while still keeping "Nikon on Nikon"
For interest of this thread only showing adapted lenses, but I tell you that kit 16-50Z makes for a compact package to give you a 25-75 equivalent grab and go.
All shot below with the Df and Micro-Nikkor 55/3.5

Looks really good. They've done a great job on this one.
The Zfc looks like a very faithful rendition. Maybe there will be a Lens Turbo II to convert F to Z ?
I've just sold my D500 and now my D850, currently having the X-T2 repaired and bought the Z6ii.
I have the FTZ adapter for AFS lenses and a simple K&F Concepts adapter for MF glass.
I think I prefer Nikon RAW files, I just wish you could use film presets in camera for jpegs like I can with the Fuji (I have it set up jpegs to slot 1 with film preset visible in the EVF + RAF files to 2nd card slot). Gives me an instant feel of if the scene suits say Acros etc., and if the jpeg needs more work I can select that preset in post for the RAF file.
Also wish that you could have the overall scene PLUS 100% zoomed side by side like the Fuji can.
On the subject, I have the centre button set to zoom 100%, I want to have half press of the shutter button zoom back out to full scene, and half press to temporarily cancel the focus peaking.
Anyone know if any of this is possible on the Z series?
I think it's only fair that I add a photo while I'm here.
Sunset over the dunes. The shells in the foreground are the remnants of feasts eaten here by the indigenous peoples or as we now call them the Traditional Owners. These middens as they arre called can be up to 60 feet deep from many many centuries of feasting.

Here's official proof that I am a 50 odd year old divorced male. I absolutely love it ! even if it's only the 1.8 supercharged auto, great on the twisties and so well made. Not bad for a 16 year old car.
My 1st benz (as you know I've always been a Beemer driver).
Heated leather, you can even see the MB "Air Scarf" in the 1st pic (hot air on your neck from the vent in the head rests)

Having gone from full frame to crop sensor since I got my X-T2, I can honestly tell you that I didn't even notice.

Congrats and enjoy the car - how does it "pull" with a 1.8 engine ?
George Thanks, I'm going to have to credit nature for the colors though!
Scott A lot of the look comes from the lens!
James I bought this lens used a long time ago from Adorama, when it arrived it was brand new in the box. I have neglected it in favor of the 55mm f/1.2 for no good reason, it can produce nice results too.
I see. From the same builders of Dr Who's Tantalus - tantalum-based optical glass makes things smaller on the inside - instead of larger. Seems they have both covered now!

Well, well, well. Look what Metabones has
On the fence about shooting a crop sensor Z camera and using your full frame manual focus lenses?
