The PC-Nikkor 28/3.5 shot at f/11 worked as predicted and delivered the „sunstars” I was looking for.
D750, the horizont is a bit skewed but I did worse in the past ;-)
This piece of woods close to the baltic sea is known as „Gespensterwald” - „spooky forest”.
Lovely image Siphiwe - mine's on its way from Orms in Cape Town and the best news is that I got a $250 trade in on my unused and redundant N80 which was a lovely camera for its era.
I look forward to trying the MF lenses and a FF camera again.

Got mine from there too, Oom. Hard to beat the service. I thought long and hard about trading in something and in the end felt like I love the other children too. That seems like a very good trade for your N80. I think you will really like the Z5.
For you folks from the southern hemisphere, welcome to the Z world

These just jump off the page. Really nice!
Looks good, does it feel like a proper FM-sized body?
Since you asked about FM body... Here are some side by side.
And a couple showing how compact you can go while still keeping "Nikon on Nikon"
For interest of this thread only showing adapted lenses, but I tell you that kit 16-50Z makes for a compact package to give you a 25-75 equivalent grab and go.
All shot below with the Df and Micro-Nikkor 55/3.5

Adapted Nikon S Rangefinder 3.5cm f/2.5
Adapted Nikon S Rangefinder 5cm f/1.4 (internal bayonet mount)

Why did you go with the 16-50 instead of the 28mm/2.8?

The 16-50 kit was what they had
But seriously, for what I want to use the camera for, having the 25-75 equivalent with VR fits best for me. Snapshot and small video project stuff. I may get the 28mm whenever they start shipping.
Have manual focus options in the 28mm range to adapt anyway.

Man that's about as close as it gets, huh? It looks like a real fun little camera, and you're right about the 16-50. It's the only Z lens that I'm particularly interested in, and for exactly the same reason. By my count, the ZFC and 16-50 should weigh about as much as an FE with a roll of film and no lens. I'm not usually one for counting ounces, but sometimes all you need the body to do is hold some glass in front of a sensor.
I'm itching bad for a nice clean D3 right now, but I'll have to try a ZFC and Z50 next time I go to the lab. Never hurts to add something else to the short list...

Despite misgivings about this body on announcement, it does seem like Nikon made an honest attempt at respecting their gene pool in the design. It really looks like the old ones. Thanks for the extensive pictures, George. I hope it feels the same in the hand. Having experienced what they've done with Z50 and Z5, I have no doubt that if they wanted to make a full frame version, they can manage it easily.
