Thanks for your help regarding the 50/1.2 and for sharing your mighty fine images taken with it!
James, the lake-scene is really beautiful in a „calm way”. Sorry, I don't have the words in english - I like the „unagitated, classic look” of it.
Leighton, you've captured some really lovely images with the superfast Nikkor.
Thanks for the link to the test, Samy.
Compared to other fast Nikkor-primes the curvature of field is clearly more prominent on the 50/1.2 Ais.
Have to try it sometimes directly against or together with the 55/1.2.
Some snaps from an evening-walk. Camera was a F3HP, film used was Adox Silvermax and the lenses were the 50/1.2 (maybe the 55/1.2) and the 135/2 Ais or 180/2.8 ED Ais.
Many of the images from this walk are very slightly tiltet (shot hand-held). That's my neighborhood.
I prefer to DSLR-scan my negatives now, but have the workflow not yet mastered. Many times the pre-visualized images are not matched by the scans.
No AF-error in this case, just some manual-focus-fun with the grasses in the foreground.
The single fairly hard outlined „cats-eye” makes me wonder why this highlight was shaped this way and others not.

Beautiful looking camera! Oh to have a digital with those features in that form factor.

It'd be something, wouldn't it? Looking at my FE and D600 side by side, the FE is really not THAT much thinner from mount to rear. It looks like the rear LCD is what adds to that dimension, so I bet it'd be doable without a rear screen. You think the "retro" Z is going to get close enough to scratch that itch?

My expectations are low, but hoping to be surprised. A Nikon APS-C really does not interest me for using legacy F glass. Fuji already excels in that area for adapting. Unless they come out with some type of special edition Z mount lens for it, the existing Z lenses are nothing close to a "retro" match with that type of body.
Depending on if this thing is even real or not, it may be interesting to adapt some legacy Nikkor rangefinder lenses. Would not have to deal with a large FTZ type adapter and would still keep a kit small.

If it is true, to me, it doesn't make since using the Z-mount. Keep it retro ALL THE WAY by using the F-mount. If they do that, I'll be back in the Nikon clan. But until then, I'm happy with my Fuji.

Well if they go retro "all the way", I think they should go back to the Nikon S

I guess it ultimately comes down to price. If it is indeed a DX Z-mount camera, then pricing in the Z50 ballpark would be fair enough. It could still be a fun camera with that nicer looking adapter that fjablo posted a few pages back. But I do agree with you and Leighton that a "proper" retro camera really oughta be F-mount (and FX), and that Fuji is already doing a great job at this sort of thing. Here's hoping, anyway.
