Looks really great with the matching ribbed lens grips but less so with the 50/2 scalloped lens.
In either case MUCH better than the FTZ!
Does any CPU lens data get stored in the EXIF when you use a non-FTZ adapter?
I read somewhere that the FTZ was required to even get that basic info recorded.

Unfortunately only the FTZ records the focal length and max aperture. But the camera will use the focal length you select for IBIS operation and auto ISO.
It's a weird and artificial limitation by Nikon not to record the focal length from 3rd party adapters..
In addition to nicer looks and less bulk, the Shoten adapter is also a bit lighter at ca 95g vs 133g for the FTZ. Not a massive difference, but sometimes every gram counts
This is the one that I have. I love it so much! I did a double seared beef tenderloin for Christmas last year, using the sous vide. It was SO tender and delicious... I do bbq chicken and other types of chicken, many different types of steaks. Have done a ham before as well. Have done a stew as well, but that one was a lot easier in a slow cooker. Chicken though...sous vide chicken is the absolute best. I have yet to have a dry chicken (or turkey) cooked in the sous vide. The real key is before and after "treatments" of the chicken that make it shine. My brother in law cannot stand chicken at all...yet, his favorite dish that I make is my sous vide BBQ chicken. I have to make a double batch he loves it so much.

Leighton, no time for meetups. I was in central valley for a couple days last week, this was a quick stop at fishermans wharf on way back to SFO.
If you ever are in the Sacramento area, hit me up!
While road tripping in a Corvette, there’s not much room for camera gear. The 35-200 lens is among my favorites. I like the utility of it as well as it’s size for travel and find it’s range useful in museums, car shows etc.. Used in the Dx mode it stretches to 300mm with decent results. It also has a decent MACRO capability that adds to it’s capabilities. Enuf said! Enjoy your lens.
50mm Nikkor-H f/2.0:
Soft and glowy wide-open. Might be better at closer distances and I actually like the look Center gets really sharp by f/5.6 and is razor sharp at f/8. The corners still improve at f/11, but the center is already a bit softer from diffraction.
