James Interesting resolution test of the 55mm, I think I see a horizontal split crossing that arrowed resistor, but it is right at the threshold of visibility.
Ken Where do double names fit into your scheme, like Sirhan Sirhan or Durhan Durhan?
The only reason I know where the spark originated was because i saw it - just happened to be looking at it at the time. There is a crack and a semi circle of the insulating material exploded off the left side. You can kind of see through it to some internal bits. Even though the drive continued to work - I was in the process of imaging it to a SSD replacement drive. To be fair - I am not sure that this is a test of resolving on the 55mm. A copy stand, and careful focus would have been the proper method - instead of handheld. Here is a 300% crop.

Those yellow rectangular tantalum caps can fail in spectacular fashion too, they can fail by shorting. I had one make a loud pop and sail flaming through the air, landing on my chair where it burned a hole in the seat cover!
People may overlook reversing a lens for really close macro work. I have a bunch of wide lenses I like for this task, but my two favorites are the 28mm f2.8, and the 35mm f1.4. Here is a kidney stone my body made in it's spare time a few years ago. It is roughly is one third the size of a BB.
Rafael, most excellent photos with the 400/3.5 monster lens. From the moon to wildlife, that is the most diverse set of captures I have seen in a single post.
This is The Mill at Shoulderbone near Sparta, GA. I used the Nikkor 35/2. Unfortunately, I don't have a 52mm ND filter, but I'm going to get one. I took this same photo with an AF lens with a ND and the water looks so much better in that one.

Held her in my arms last night as she passed away. Was a rather sudden and rapid deterioration, preliminary diagnosis was acute pneumonia. The vet performed CPR twice but I waved her off for the third, felt gut-wrenching to see her intubated and with vigorous chest compressions.
Goodbye my faithful companion. Goodbye Oolong Cha.
I just popped in for a look and saw your sad news. She was a lovely dog and they are so intelligent. I know you will have lovely memories of her for many years to come. My condolences.

Lovely picture.
I have screw on filters for 72mm and 77mm and a set of step down rings to get to 52, 58, 67mm etc
Lightweight and easy to throw into your camera bag.

Thanks for the suggestion, Colin. I used to use step down rings, but after getting filters stuck on them one too many times, I swore I'd never use them again. Maybe I need to start buying filters made of brass so that they won't stick.
Love that color. Nice ! By the way, I am also evaluating Capture One Pro 21, and believe it or not, LR/PS. I really do not like subscription, but Capture One Pro 21 is more expensive when all things considered, so I have not decided which way to go. But, I really really do not like subscription, but LR/PS seems cheaper if I keep decent cycle of updates...... I have now 11 days left on Capture One trial to decide.

Luka,
I just went through the same dilemma. I have been a longtime user of C1, but had the Fuji only version. I recently bought a Nikon and had to decide whether to pay the upgrade price to the full version of C1, or to switch to LR. As much as I like C1, the last two updates have offered very little. I made the decision to switch to LR. I, too, hate the subscription model, but I was paying more for C1 by upgrading every new release. The way they are changing their pricing structure, it looks to me like C1 is trying to push everyone to their subscription model. The thing that makes their subscription model even worse than Adobe's is that they require you to pay a year at a time. You can't go month to month like with Adobe.
The good thing is that no matter which way you decide to go, you are getting some darn good software.
