Vacation time! Heading out bright and early tomorrow morning to the Outer Banks for a week. Kayaks and fishing gear loaded. Hope to post some decent shots from there. Wifi was good last year. But if not, everyone have a good weekend and good week
Shot taken with Df and Zoom-Nikkor 35-200mm 3.5-4.5 AIS (great one lens kit for kayaking)
George
p.s. Ignore the loose straps. Will tighten everything down in the morning
To minimize monotony in my Drumheller image posts, I'll intermingle the badlands photos with images from another local attraction. This part of Alberta has long been a rich source of dinosaur fossils and houses the renowned Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology. So to begin our tour of the museum, here are a few photos of some predatory dinosaur skulls (Note: I apologize for the fact that the first two are plastic models. There will be only one other plastic model among my photos; all the rest will be authentic fossils).
Fujichrome Velvia ISO 50, Brazilian Savannah, São Carlos-SP.
FM2 + 12mm tube + Nikkor 50mm f/2 + Vivitar circular flash, f/16 at 1/250s.
Slide dupe taken with V1 (at ISO 100) + FT1 + 8mm tube + Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 ai-s @ f/5.6 + ES-1 slide copying adapter. This combo delivers ~ 1:1 reproduction, but I cropped the V1 image a litte bit (9/10Mp = 90%).
Shame on you Jose... They thought they were in private.
And Ric... great caption for Philippe's photo. We'd better be careful or Fred might slap an X rating on this thread...
Also noted the post total tripped over again as we begin another thousand posts. We never seem to run out of things to say or photos to share. Pretty sweet!

Not hard to tell that you like surf fishing. Have a great vacation, whatever THAT is!
Another day in paradise and thank you for the likes and comments.
Jose so that's where those little buggers come from.
George the outer banks are great and you'll have a good time. Lets see photos.
Andy some beautiful colors. Magnificent birds,
Philippe the lion, cougar and lioness? What a great capture and great caption.
Well moving forward into Utah and starting with Zion National Park which had tons of people! This series was done with the NOCT and the subsequent crops made from the initial shot. It was the ONLY wildlife we saw on our trip!
For those of you that pray or send good vibes...need them. You all know that my dad passed away in January from cancer. He went fast and hard and I miss him terribly this Father's Day weekend.
That's not the need though. My mother in law was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. Very large mass, but the doctors thought it would be treatable. They were waiting for her to heal from the attempt to remove the tumor before starting chemo. Well it seems that in these two weeks, the tumor has grown a lot. The doctor is saying a month, two at most. We are trying to get a second opinion, but that is proving difficult.
She is a strong woman. She beat brain cancer. If you were to look at a chart for those deserving of cancer, she would be down near the bottom. It will be a devastating loss for my wife's family...mama is the glue that holds them together. Don't know what will happen when she passes.

Kevin very sorry to hear about your mother in law. However this thread is the place for support, prayers and well wishes. I had my travails and notably Leighton had his and all turned out well. She's in our prayers.

This is what families are for. Hoping all goes well Kevin.
Kevin, very sorry for your mother in law. Fast moving cancers barely give you any time to cope. Hope that a good hospice has been contacted, they'll bring a whole team with them, social workers, chaplains, nurses, aides, PT and OT, and bereavement counseling. They'll offer bereavement counseling for up to 13 months afterwards, no charge. My prayers go with you.
