With jpelt78 tip, I mounted it sucessfully. But it turns to blind mode, no metering. As the film toddler, I simply just can not master the shot properly.
MDOC ?? I asked him what MDOC stood for and he told me "Music Doctor." He was and he enjoyed all types of music as much as his photography. Six years and two days ago we spoke on the phone. He was just out of the hospital and feeling well. I was just about recovered from two broken legs and we planned lunch as we usually did.
Ray and I would get together to shoot flowers, and here's a photo of him at Bok Tower show a chap who looks a lot like Samuel Clemens his camera with one of his favorite lenses, an 85mm f/1.4 AI-S.
Happy memories of Ray on this thread. While I may have first joined looking for some advice on manual lenses for my then new D800, he was definitely one of the folks that made the thread feel like a friendly place to hang out.
Phong that's an AF-D lens so should work fine on the F4. Not sure what's going on. In fact thats a pretty nice 28mm 1.4, which used to be much talked about.
Gibellini Bellatrix 810, Nikkor-W 240 5.6 and Ektachrome 100. Rough time drying the slide out - the water stains would not budge until I dipped it in some Kodak Photo-Flo (well a drop or two in the tank).
The scan does have a bluish tinge which Photoshop cleans up pretty well.
f/64, 1/2s exposure. I was standing about 15 feet from a walking path and I could hear some folks stop and comment on the 8X10 image on the ground glass as it came into focus. I was too busy fiddling with the various knobs and stuff to turn around. At least I didn't hear any snide remark about why the landscape (and the fisherman) were turned upside down

George, after getting the SP-810 I am not sure I want to try the SP-445 anymore. Last time I used the smaller model a good ~20 ml or so leaked out. The 810 tank is just so much more convenient. I have a couple of 4X5s I want to try next in the 810. It can handle a variety of formats, just not rolls

That is good to know. You should contact Stearman Press. It should not leak like that. I have not had any leak issues since I started loosening the top while "burping" the tank with a little squeeze.
Ben offered me some help, as in counseling, after I bought the multiphot lenses. Well, they were not perfect so I sent them back.
Will all that spare money, I decided to invest into an 8mm f/8 to keep my 7.5mm 5.6 company. The 7.5mm is like new and this 8mm was a estate find with poor photos but potential so I bought it:
The lens itself is excellent, with perfect glass and a few tiny dings. The front cap is decent, the rear cap is a mess and the finder is missing its cap.
Bought it from San Diego Friday, arrived Saturday, tested it Sunday and returned it today.
Lens itself was excellent but not the mint collector I wanted, will probably never find that.
Tested great, a keeper as an user, it is not as pretty as the pictures as the chrome has many superficial scratches - but the price was right, perfect glass, not a spec of dust.
And finally, as I have a mint 3.5cm 3.5 and a good 8.5cm 2.0 to use, I needed the queens for the garage, so I bought these two older Tokyo versions, not there yet. (might sell the ones I got first)
Complete with original cases, shade, caps. and apparently not used.
