Saturday! Was visiting the area, super smoky - unhealthy air quality - my timing always is excellent!
Tell me about it. On the 9th, the AQI was over 500 in Sacramento and Roseville (where I live). I think Folsom was in the high 400's. Unreal. Next time you are in the area, if the COVID issue is less of a threat, look me up.

It was good to see Reagan and Curtis showing up. Situation is really hard right now, lot´s of people getting sick, people losing their jobs and all those crazy fires going om right now...
It´s most def tough times. 2020 needs to get better NOW.
I had the privilege to take a trip fishing this sunday, last call for sea run brown trout this year. No fish. And when I come to think about it fishing is prettyh much like photography, just like I catch fish 5/100 times 5/100 photos are keepers. Here´s a couple I took while "fishing". You`ll se my fishing buddies one the right.

Rafael, I have only tried the Fotasy adapter with longer lenses. Have to check if my 3.5cm 2.5 or 3.5 work with it. Or like Jeremy said it could be a QC problem with the adapter.
I think there is a QC issue with the one Fotasy adapter I bought, only have one lens to try on it, but I trust the new looking nikkor more than the adapter. I will return it to Amazon and ordered the Kipon, more expensive and hopefully better.
This Fotasy also had the lens flange distance wrong and 9m became infinity. I could start to mount the lens but it would not go in with reasonable force.
So here is the 3.5cm 3.5 W.C. Found it adorable! I kinda mounted it on the bad Fotasy, barely staying in, but I was able to test it this way, it is an almost new looking and perfectly working lens.
I don't know how Nikon makes focusing helicoids that stay butter smooth after nearly 70 years.
The center was sharp at any aperture, the sides get better as you close it down, this is no 35mm 1.4 but it renders a very interesting image. Found it to be nicely sharp on the Z6 all the way to f/22.
These are at f/22, if you check 100% on Flickr it the sharpness should surprise you. My usual lens test subjects, use them because I know how they look, poor plants are so sad after 110F.
Tough luck on the Fotasy adapter Rafael.
That lovely little 3.5cm lens deserves a better mounting solution.

I find it really un-cool to walk around town with a tin of beer in one's hand - the youth of today!
Conversely, they were probably thinking it is un-cool for a middle-aged man to be taking photos in the street with a DSLR and a 49 year old lens.
As I said, I just bought a Nikkor-N auto 35mm F/1.4 Thorium, Nikkor 35mm PC and 105mm micro D. For Nikkor-N glass, when attaching to D4, I can not turn the aperture ring. How can I do?
Thank you.
I’d be careful with the 35 f1.4 N pre-AI. It could damage your D4 in its current state. You can’t turn the ring because it is stuck or jammed against the aperture feeler on the camera. It could bend or break it if you mount it and/or try to force it to fit/move. If you want to use it on the D4 you need to have it modified either by milling/filing in the AI ridge at the proper spot or having the ring swapped out if an AI kit can be found. I use all my pre-AI with the FTZ on my Z6 which does not have this mounting issue. It is a nice looking lens (my copy is rougher and was more heavily used). If the lens is yellowed you can clear it up by exposure to sunlight or a small led spotlight for some time period.

The 35/1.4 looks very nice, Phong. As others have said, it needs an “Ai conversion” unless you just use it on the Sony then you don't have to do anything.
I’ve had 4 of my non-ai lenses converted by John White in the US. He does a great job and the cost is very reasonable which you can check on his site. The shipping will cost more

Phong, other option for the non-AI'd 35 1.4N is a Df. I like your display of lenses there.
My 35 is converted and very yellow. It can have some cool warming effects in appropriate conditions.
The ability to mount pre-AI lenses on the FTZ adapter was a welcome surprise.
More and more interesting Saph.
DF/Z body option would be nice idea to think about.
Thorium version in good shape is pretty rare, I really do not want to return it to seller.
They want 40 euro and 20 euros for shipping worldwide
Replacing the ring would keep it looking nice Phong.nh wrote:

Hello Dean, jpelt78 and Saph
I am more than happy to let you know, the 35mm F/1.4 thorium works very well as it should on A7s
Called it a day and rushed to home for quick test. And here you go:
