Curtis you made me cringe after remembering detaching my quads 6 years ago. Can I offer you a suggestion? Try a straight leg knee brace if it’s not healing as expected.

Beautiful shots Leighton, love the colours in the third one. I'll participate in one of the local farmers market in july if everything works well. Cant wait!!
Take care
Kristian
If you're a people person, you'll have loads of fun. Take some pics and share with us.
Finally after many lunar cycles of searching, found a mint example the all chrome H.C 50/2 LTM with original caps and leather case at a down to earth price tag. The build of the tiny lens is stunning and much heavier than its size would indicate. It is amazing that a lens that has celebrated 60+ birthdays can be in this sort of condition. May have to pick up a couple more.
Took the new toy to the Conservatory Garden for an initial test drive, all @ f/2.8:

Colin, thanks for stepping in for me with the flower photo above. I've been incapacitated by a tear in a quadricep muscle that laid me low about ten days ago, and that after a bout of vertigo that kept me from my daily walks for a week.
I've been rambling back in the thread to find out how things were going with your father and noted your post about his death, as well as the death of his brother. I'm sorry for you loss Colin. Its especially difficult when our parents pass. From what you've shared on the thread over time I had the impression you had a good relationship with your father. Glad you were able to say goodbye.
I remember when we were burying my mother. I was standing with my half-brother watching when I glanced down and noted the headstone for my father. It shook me for a moment to realize they were both gone.
All the best to you and your family Colin....Show more →
Good to have you back. You must remember to take care of that old body my friend.

Leighton, Robin and I just missed you as I learned “Tom” with the white floppy hat had just left. We bought a ton of vegetables and had as much fun as anyone can while social distancing. I parked in the same spot as I did four years ago, only no Vette, just the Tahoe.
Took some pictures but my heart wasn’t in it. Social distancing got me some strange looks. Couldn’t understand people keeping their distance yet getting close and petting each other’s dogs.
Anyway got checked in at Massanutten and visited my daughter and grandkids in Crozet. Remarkably beautiful drive, passed beautiful small farms along nice country roads and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Just got a PM from Samy telling me that you were supposed to come, must of missed it. I get to the market at 6 and leave by 9. I'm trying to get folks to keep their dogs at home, but, I/we can't force them too since we have no rule against them. If you come again, PM me so I'll make sure to be there.
Serge, congrats on the 5cm f2 LTM. Those LTM Nikkors are indeed little gems, as long as they have been treated reasonably well, 60 years seems to be nothing to them. Now try out the 5cm 1.4, and the 5cm 3.5 LTMs too. And then there's a couple other focal lengths

No problem. We got there at nine and you must have just left because one of the vendors Instinctively pointed and said you were just there. Told me to look for your hat.
I was surprised at the spacing of the vendors. Well disciplined crowd and as said my only chuckle was the dogs!
We’re gone next Saturday so we have to do another day in another year. Give you, me, Samy and George something to look forward too.
Well that's a bummer, Ken. Sorry you two missed this time.
BTW, I'm off Wednesday, if you're heading west after that.

Once ninety days are up, I can put in for vacation time, so can join in on the weekend. It's about a 6-7.5 hour ride for me, just about a tank of gas each way (depends on whether I want to avoid tolls)

They are definitely heavy for their size. Chrome plated brass. If you don't have a hood for it, look for the Nicca 40.5mm clamp on hood (rectangular shape). That may be another search but well worth it. Will look great on your Fuji. For reference, I got one in mint shape with the Nicca leather pouch for $43
I see Samy is already pushing you to other 50mm and I agree with him. Especially the 5cm f/3.5 if you want small and sharp.
If you want to go wider and get close to "normal" focal length on your Fuji, I highly recommend the 3.5cm f/2.5.
I used these lenses a lot back when I had an X-Pro. The short adapter makes a great match. You do loose some of the unique character due to the crop but are still terrific lenses for the Fuji

It was a long road as the vast majority are well used or with issues and priced at a high altitude. For someone that goes after only minty lenses, it was not an easy walk in the park. It was a big plus to find this one from a US seller which would have made a return easy plus much lower shipping cost.
I think the next target may be the 3.5cm f/2.5. You have posted several images with the little gem and seems to be a terrific performer. The tiny size is a nice bonus.
The thin adapter makes a huge and pleasant difference on the Fuji plus inexpensive @ $12.99. The F mount adapter is a bit of a bear on small camera bodies.
I was on a search for the hood and picked up the Marumi short metal hood which should arrive next week.

Thanks, Samy.
I gave the 5cm f/1.4 serious consideration but that would be a heavy chunk of brass on a small body. I was not aware of the 5cm f/3.5 and will check it out. One does learn something everyday.

Have a great day,

To give you a sense of size of the 5cm f/3.5 here is a shot of one mounted with the Nicca hood for it. Hood is 1/3 the size of the lens. Very small package for carrying around.

You had a much worse injury than I did Ken. Mine was simply a tear that must have happened when I was moving bins in anticipation of the garbage man arriving the following morning. We have large green bins for yard as well as food waste that can be quite heavy. I wasn't aware of the movement that caused the problem but it was later in that day that I felt tenderness in my thigh. By the following day I could hardly move without sharp pain. Getting in and out of bed was agony so I slept in a chair. Eventually I could slide onto the bed and sleep on my back but getting out of bed was still very painful.
Was your quad injury part of the trauma on stairs when your ankles broke? It is lovely to read about you wandering around and enjoying life knowing how difficult that recovery was for you. What I'm dealing with is small stuff in comparison...
