Thanks for all the well wishes. Your words meant a lot.
Alas, I am saddened to report that my father (89) passed away yesterday evening. As previously communicated this was not unexpected but it still shocks you to the core. What took the extended family completely by surprise was the sudden death of my father's older brother (93) earlier the same day. The clan is in mourning.
Colin
Sorry to hear about your loss Colin. Two brothers on the same day is awful. Take care.
Sincere condolences to you and family, Colin. Nothing quite compares to the loss of a father, no matter the circumstances and expectations of it. I wish you all lots of comfort. My father passed away at 86 just under four years ago. We were expecting it but like you did not expect that his younger brother would pass away at a young 67 years old from an ailment he picked up at my Dad's funeral.
My very spiritual Hindu colleague said at the time that perhaps their souls were bound together and the absence of the other was too much for the remaining one and both passing meant they are back together in brotherly happiness. The same thoughts come to my mind considering what you are going through with both parents. Once again, wishing you and your family lots of strength.

Thanks. I was in the second story of the parking garage across the street. Had to get low to shoot under the utility wires.
I have a function button set to the in camera miniature effect. I just like to play with it from time to time.
Love your image. I didn't know you had the 18mm. Do you like it?
Thanks. Yeah. I actually have 2 of the 18mm f/4s. One in mint condition with the "dinner plate" HN-15 hood (one I took the shot above with) and one that cosmetically is a beater but perfect optics that I usually throw in my backpack when hiking.
Great lenses and love using them on the Df and for some reason never shot them on the Z6. Go figure.

Cool. I've never been a big user of wide lenses. The 24mm was as wide as I ever went with the D600 and I didn't use that very often, always grabbing for the 28 instead.
Words of condolence can often seem so trivial compared to the magnitude of one’s loss. Even the most heartfelt words don’t lessen the loss or assuage the pain. At best they can communicate that we walk our own paths that parallel yours in some ways. That we have some measure of understanding of what you are going through—though we can never understand the unique quality of your grief. May you find peace even in this time of pain.

Yeah, not a lot of opportunity to use the ultra-wide for me either, but handy when trying to capture a lot of sky or interiors. I usually use them down at the coast, but that will have to wait until next year. I hope.
