In these tough times, I offer few lines from the Upanishads
oṃ sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ
sarve santu nirāmayāḥ
sarve bhadrāṇi paśyantu mā kaścidduḥ khabhāgbhaveta।
oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ॥
सभी सुखी होवें,
सभी रोगमुक्त रहें,
सभी मंगलमय घटनाओं के साक्षी बनें और किसी को भी दुःख का भागी न बनना पड़े।
ॐ शांति शांति शांति॥
May all sentient beings be at peace,
may no one suffer from illness,
May all see what is auspicious, may no one suffer.
Om peace, peace, peace.
All the best to you and your family Colin. You've mentioned your father's health in the past and your visits to offer support and comfort. I'll echo Rams quote from the Upanishads... the Metta Prayer from Buddhism...
May all beings be peaceful.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be free from suffering.
I know from working over the years with men and women nearing the end of their lives that there can be relief when the journey comes to an end, especially after a long life OR a long illness. Blessings to you all as your journey continues...
I mentioned the other week that I was replacing the focus screen in my Df with an L type Split Image 45 deg screen made for the F6 film camera. Curtis was interested in the results so I thought I would post a couple pictures here. Please ignore the quality, this was done quickly using the 55mm f3.5 Micro held up to the Df viewfinder.
But you can see get the gist of the 45 degree split image in the center of the out of focus image.
You can be assured it looks much better actually looking through the Df viewfinder. In focus just pops across the screen. Now I am happy
Doing the replacement is not for the faint of heart or if you do not have steady hands. The viewfinders are very fragile and can easily be scratched with the slightest touch of tweezers or anything hard.
I have done 3 of these. A D700 years ago, my original Df and now this one. The first two screen swaps were pretty straight replace and shoot. This one needed some adjustments to match focus. I had to remove one of the Df metal shims (this one had two mounted with the original focus screen). Still needed some mirror cam adjustments, but I eventually got it dialed in. And now the split image perfectly matches the focus confirmation indicator.
So now back to my "film shooting experience" digital Df
