I'm pretty sure you can obtain a similar picture (i.e. magnification) with the naked 28/2.8 AI-S. In fact, in your picture the magnification of the Zeiss lens is around 1:4 (if you didn't crop; if you cropped, it's even lower). Max magnification of the AI-S 28/2.8 is 1:3.9 @ 20 cm.

I'm afraid not.
Original ratio 1:3.9 max
Here is 1:1

Update
Just check it back, same ratio.
So I made the BS with Raynox250.
Question is, Raynox is to magnify/increase original lens ratio, why nothing hapens in this case?
PS: Google it for ratio definition. In macro photography 1:1 is to refer object actual size. Ripolini, yu are right. I was wrong to think of sensor size instead of object real size.

Update
More interesting to find something online to satisfy myself curiosity.
The longer and bigger magnification affects more. For 2828AIS, ratio increased from 0.39 to 0.58, not much.
I just received a refund for the ES-1 slide copy adapter I ordered on March 4 from Japan. Apparently they can't ship to the US at this time and the package was returned. So don't bother to order any sharp looking MF glass from Japan at this time.
The seller sent me this link showing that Japan Post is more or less halting shipments to 160 countries
So my slide and negative digitizing will have to continue on my mcgyvered setup until that normalizes. No ES-1 listed on eBay that's not coming from Japan.
I'm up for a challenge. Macro, landscape, architecture, monochrome pretty much anything
It sure would keep us shooting and inspire each other. I'm back at work so I don't have as much time as I had a couple of weeks ago. But I would do my best to contribute.

Okay... it seems there is interest. I've given it some thought so perhaps I can come up with a list of challenges. I'd encourage folks to send me a PM with suggestions. I'm aware that we're all facing challenges in terms of mobility because of the coronavirus so nothing on the list should require serious travel. I'll assume folks are free to take a walk in their neighborhood and to visit a store for supplies. In Marin we have the requirement that if we're in any place where others are present that we observe physical distance of six feet and that we wear masks so if we're carrying the virus it won't be disbursed if we speak or sneeze. We're also encouraged when shopping to leave the premises as soon as possible, so there won't be any challenge that requires hanging out in a store.
And a photo from a recent ramble, with the 80-200 f/4.5 AI mounted. The quotation on the window comes from Jack Kornfield, a Buddhist teacher at Spirit Rock Meditation Center located not too far from where I live.
This was a rather curious find on a recent walk. I've passed this location a number of times but haven't noticed this piece before. Perhaps I was too fixated on the blackberries on a bush across the street and simply missed it. Again, with the 80-200 f/4.5 AI. Carrying a zoom lens is nice when I have only one lens with me. If I had a copy of the 35-200 I'd likely use that. Although it has variable apertures folks who've shared photos taken with that lens tell us it is a very capable lens. I even went shopping, then thought better of adding another lens to my kit...
When this thread was getting started... a process that actually took some time, I did a great deal of posting. Things have changed over the years and the thread really took on a life of its own, something I've always felt good about since I'm far from the most accomplished photographer and far from having an in depth knowledge about gear. I defer to others who've made this thread their own on both counts. But this has always been about enjoying myself with photography and it continues to be in this newest iteration of my participating. Now to the mundane.
Today is time to recycle since pickup is early tomorrow morning. I have a deeper appreciation for the garbage man who may now be called a refuse worker for all I know. Seeing the film Contagion a couple of weeks ago I saw what happens when such services break down. Garbage at curbside doesn't work well in an urban environment. SOOO, I took out my recycling and noticed an iris growing in the yard in front of my neighbor's home. The only thing I could do was get my camera which has the 80-200 f/4.5 AI mounted and take a few photos. Here is a close shot taken wide open, of course. I do love this humble lens that in its heyday was a force to be reckoned with...
George was willing to play with me this afternoon/evening and we came up with the challenge below. Our intention is to challenge ourselves within the constraints likely at play for us in the moment. Below is a PNG file created from a screenshot of the document I created out of our exchange of PMs. Have fun with this... and obviously, if one or more of the challenges doesn't work for you, perhaps you could tweak it and have some fun with all of us. Prizes will be announced at the end...
George told me to change the 11 at the bottom to 12 but I was too confused to make the correction. If the disparity is troublesome for you... have another glass of something with alcohol in it and think about something else...

How long are we going to do the challenge?
Looks like 12 days, Kevin.
The projected end of our lockdown is in 10 days but I think it will be gradually eased - right now #12 isn't legal as only essential trips (food, medicine, doctor) are allowed.
