The same lens setup as my previous post, Nikkor AI 50mm f/1.8 on Sony A7. But the adapter I use got a built-in helicoid, it can still focus to infinity, it can also focus closer than normal MFD. I took photos of some wildflowers with the helicoid extended.
It was the first time I see these two types of Mariposa Lily at the same hike. Thanks for looking.
Nice set of flowers there. I had been to Savannah this weekend. Here is the famous hanging bridge with a setting sun.

Nice series, Peter! How in heck were you able to get so close to the Chipmunk? Love this shot!
I had food, the chipmunk wanted it. Camera was on remote trigger pointed at its general approach direction, ready to go at 6fps continuous. I did a few tests with my hand to get an idea how close it had to get before hitting the trigger. I thought it would run off, but it didn't care about the shutter noise at all. It wanted my San Francisco salami, or the flatbread we had with it.

Might I say that the 16mm f3,5 complements the 20mm f3,5 real well and that you have 9 slots to fill in the non-CPU lens registry in your camera?
There's a reason I bring both, the 16mm f/3.5 and the 20mm f/3.5 on my hikes. Both will be in the bag again this summer, the trusty 24-85mm VR as well (a totally underrated lens), and maybe the 180mm f/2.8? A matter of how mad I am at the start of the trip, I guess. We have a 2-day warmup planned before things get serious for the rest of the trip. We'll decide after that warmup how much camera gear has to stay behind.
Oh, and I've run out of those non-CPU slots a long time ago. Hard to decide which one to remove. Thing is, the 600mm will soon open up a slot that had been taken permanently for several years

Agree on the 24-85VR. The best $300 AF lens I have ever bought.
Brian, those trail photos look SO familiar, but then I guess much of California looks like this. I view the photos and wonder whether I've been on that trail... but the vast majority of my hiking is in Marin County north of San Francisco and I doubt you're a neighbor... but we can be friends.
Yes, very relaxing as these photos remind me of what it is like to be ON the trail. Thanks.

Took a short hike at Almaden Quicksilver County Park on Memorial Day. This is at the south end of SF bay area, in the Santa Cruz mountain range.
Nikkor AI 50mm f/1.8, on Sony A7. Pretty much the same optics as the "long nose" version of AI-S.

Hey Lestor did you go to Lyon : the statue on your last shot is located 50 metres from my office... -)
Hi Philippe,
Indeed we were there for the weekend and fell in love with the city-especially the Lyonnaise cuisine. And the prices are so modest unlike most cities. Btw, why is the Bartholdi fountain missing

Apologizing for causing some annoyance to Philippe, 3 shots from a visit to the Napoleonic Museum of Rome:
Haha, that's fine with me, José, but it strikes me as strange indeed that we have had a lot of prominent historical figures (Vercingétorix, Clovis, Saint Louis, Louis XI, Richelieu, Clemenceau, Lyautey, de Gaulle...to name a few...) and the only one renowned abroad is the "petit caporal" who has done way more harm than good in this world.... that's life ! :-)

It's a pity you didn't drop me a mail, we could have a drink in a bar of the vieux Lyon...
The Bartholdi fountain has been under renovation for several months.
Did you enjoy Marseille too ?

Apologies, Philippe. It was a weekend stopover for us and I did not know you were based in Lyon, else could have surely sat over a few glasses!

Thanks to all who have "Liked" my previous image posts. It's very nice to find new posts to read and view every time I come to visit this thread, and also to see people rejoining the MFNG fold. Joseph, it's great to see you renewing your interest. By the way, now that I have moved to Vancouver Island with its abundant wildlife, I have a plan for the 200 f/2 Ai-s that I bought from you. I'm going to mount it on my tripod with either my wife's D7000 (that she never uses) or my Fuji X-E2 hanging off the back of it, and point it into our new backyard to capture the ducks, deer, etc. that our new landlord says regularly pass through. I might even see if he will approve of us putting a bird feeder back there so I can zoom in on some songbirds.
Here are some photos from the prairie leg of my wife's and my cross-Canada drive, showing a few classic prairie structures shot with I-don't-remember-which-MFN-lenses on the Fuji X-E2 and processed in Lightroom on my phone....Show more →
Hi Glen! I'm jealous..B.C is absolutely beautiful! One of the most memorable trip I've taken was the ferry ride from Tsawwassen to Victoria. The ferry passed through several islands and I remember seeing bald eagles from the ferry. Alas, my longest lens was a 105mm so they were all pixelated I'm looking forward to your wildlife photos.
