Sure, that works if you're switching a Lux 35 pre-A for a Jupiter 3, but not quite as well if you're switching the FD 85L for the FD 300L.

Can't help imagining Derek doing that, haha Kidding aside, I guess the more I worried about process the more chances I get screwed, that is what happened to me last time.

Gary, Wow, incredible detail and clarity.
Ron, #2,3 are great. Great composition.

Gary, that's a fantastic wide open performance!

Ron, lovely beach sets.

Did anyone notice high iso banding with the new firmware? I rarely had banding before but since I upgraded the firmware, I'm getting it in almost every shot.

Edward - Only in the most ridiculous situations. Like I'm shooting ISO 800-1600 and I'm pushing to 12800+

Thanks Adam. That's very strange, I feel that my M suddenly developed a case of high iso banding, without any contrast or exposure boost. The banding is even visible on the camera LCD.

Just a random thought. Would the M240P Ram boost allow for the VF4?

Thank you Charlie! Nice shot of the thief!

Joakim, well timed. Very funny!

Adam, I would think not. If I understood it correctly, it's the processor that isn't powerful enough.

took a nice ride/hike the other day:

always takes me forever to pack the truck, so I need a coffee:

L1019166 by unoh7, 28cron f/2 uncorrected

over the pass to the Sawtooth Valley:

L1019173 by unoh7, 28 cron

Old store, for years run by old lady who specialized selling sex toys

L1019177 by unoh7, 28 cron.

I think this was the stage stop:

L1019181 by unoh7, 28 cron

The Plan: park near valley mouth, ride motorbike to lake, hike to ridge

L1019315-2 by unoh7, 28 cron

made it this far:

L1019187 by unoh7, 28 cron--maybe
destination, though I was not sure at the time, is the peak in the center.

took the main trail up to the left, and past this tarn, to get on the ridge above.

L1019193 by unoh7, 28 cron

Hiking the ridgeline:

L1019208 by unoh7, zm 18 uncorrected.

good views destination is peak on the right, attached to ridge.

L1019209 by unoh7, ZM18

peeking over the north side:

L1019222 by unoh7, zm18

the "monster" appears:

L1019359 by unoh7, CV 90

Tucked underneath:

L1019266 by unoh7, 135/3.4 @ 4.8 2000, handheld. Maybe my fav shot of the hike

Final approach:

L1019234 by unoh7, zm18

If I was 20, this would be easy

L1019236 by unoh7, zm18

The summit, and what I came to see: Castle Peak and Chamberlain Basin.

L1019304 by unoh7, zm18
It's the single biggest landmark in the state, though at 11.8 it's not the highest. Over the years many mishaps on this peak.

The basin:

L1019282 by unoh7, 135/3.4 @ f/9.5 Telyt earning it's keep

Lower Permian Mud and Siltstone make for......

L1019281 by unoh7, 50 cron
Careful, you can cut yourself just looking at it

Tons of goats around but I never saw one

L1019248 by unoh7, 135/3.4

the way back:

L1019290 by unoh7, 50 cron f/11

Tripping the light fantastic in the huge circ to the north:
L1019384 by unoh7, zm18

took a direct route back to 4th of July Lake--where the bike is parked.

L1019399 by unoh7, zm18

The lake as I left it

L1019414 by unoh7, zm18 f/5.7

Within a 60 mile radius of my viewpoint: the most varied geology on the planet. Each range, another story Everything from 1.5 billion year old metamorphic continental remnants, to 3000 year old Basalt flows.

Very nice Charlie. You are going to buy it - correct? A little bling for the M9....

Robert - congrats! You won't have to worry about color cast with the MM!

Oh well.. Not really much of a reason to buy a M240P then.. Will just upgrade the cosmetics when it becomes available.

The lomo Petzvel is really quite heavy. Would be kinda weird on an M240, no?

just as soon as it's RF coupled

....however it would be VERY cool on the A7 via nikon F mount. I'd love to see what it can do. Not really THAT expensive either.

680 grams....a feather to my 135 Elmarit-M
Check out the samples!!

BTW my wonder copy of the 135/2.8 v3 is one of the first thousand made in 1976. The glass is crystal, but focus ribs are heavily brassed, so this one was used alot. Somebody else loved it Hood slides smooth but has no play.

Zhangyue, thank you for your comments! Nice b/w compositions. Love the open space.

Charlie, beautiful mountain shots. I especially like the ones with the ZM 18.

Burningheart, congrats!!!

Adam, I agree that there isn't much worth the upgrade in the M-P. Maybe if I still had the M9 I would have upgraded directly to the M-P, but from the M240 it's better to wait for something extra.

edwardkaraa: Those Zeiss colors really are something!

Saw this beauty at the local market today. Seems like the M8 at ISO 160/320 needs virtually no PP on the raws except for the most minor adjustments.
