Hmmm what do you think of a m240 for £3500... I was hoping to keep it at around £3300 based on what I'd seen in eBay. One of those where you stick like a stubborn mule to the prices you've seen all the time wondering whether it's worth the wait... *seeks guidance from elders*

I'd say you're about right.. That's $7,200 SGD, or $5,800 USD. Which is more then fair if the set is near mint with around a year of warranty left. You could get it for a bit cheaper if you waited for the right deal. But it's a matter of waiting and not having the camera, or buying now and getting £200 worth of shots on it. If nothing really major is happening right now in your life, it maybe worth it to wait a bit. Then again, I'm never one to wait.

zhangyue - Nice shot.. I've done this recently on a took took in Bangkok. Shot my wife in one rear mirror and my brother-in-law in the other Don't know where the image went. Got buried among all the other travel shots I took this year.
Yours is a lot nicer though,

Katie - Look forward to seeing more images of the little guy.

airfrogusmc - Haha, very cool!

Gary - Like the composition. Maybe not your intention, but something about the cars parked up on the curb of what should be a not so busy street, kinda makes me feel like there's an overcrowding issue. And these old guys must remember a time when the street was much more quiet. Maybe I'm just projecting my annoyance for traffic in S.E.A. Traffic all weekend.

CVickery - Nice atmosphere! I actually like the 75 Summarit a lot, lets see more

Richard, have you ever think of M9 instead of M240? M9 2nd hand price seems very reasonable now-days. Do you need LV and EVF or high ISO for M?

LV, not really, EVF not really. High ISO, yes, I shoot often in low and very low light. I figured the price difference between the two isn't actually so big, so it would be worth getting the newer sensor (along with a couple of other useful things like the shutter). But then price differences seem to grow, makes such a decision less straight forward

Keep in mind they are more over here, like $8000 USD new, although that's due to increase a little. Thanks for so,e guidance anyway... I know what you mean, I'd basically pay £100 or so more than I wanted to before. As to weather anything major is happening in my life right now, well, difficult to say! What major is I'm not sure. My wedding season is tapering off, so I'll be having more personal time soon (eg next week), but no trips until early Oct.

edit: being delivered Thursday... exciting! You guys didn't warn me about the sinking feeling you get when you click "pay" though, shame on you all...

Congrats on the purchase Richard! And don't worry about the cost - you will likely spend much more than that on Leica glass....

You got a good deal regardless.. Here they're $8,800 USD NEW before price increase. So I'd guess about $9,200 USD after price increase. And that sinking feeling goes away really quick once you start using it.

Edward - I don't know if its your processing, or the sonar, but those have a very film look to them. But not like film, more like if they continued to advance film technology to the point where it was on par with digital (in the ways digital is superior), but still maintained a film look.

Adam, I think it's the Sonnar look, because my PP is extremely simple. I think it has some weird or unusual rendering at times, but definitely quite unique.

Yours is a lot nicer though,

The reason I said try that is It is impossible to focus with range finder. I use focus scale to judge focus and took three stack shot with one decent in focus. I guess rear side mirror is a lot bigger so that you still can focus it or did you use EVF or LCD? And thank you for your kind comments

Richard,
congratulation! it is a camera I always want. Have fun and look forward your images here.

Edward, Color is great, and subject is really pop
Gary, nice tonality.

More 35cron V1, I really love it, I feel stupid that I almost sold it.

We both enjoy the biweekly weekend train ride, just me and my son

Gary, we have Caltrain along the line between San Jose and San Francisco that cover almost all bay area cities along the line. I either took my son go north (San Francisco) or go south (San Jose). He is really into it which I almost can't understand until I thought about myself on Camera gear

zhangyue - RF, and yes it was difficult being so small and far away (all three of us were in the back, and the side mirror is a motorbike mirror essentially). Nice shots on the train.. Really like the first one.

@adam gary @zhangyue thanks! You should all be prepared for out of focus, grainy images of no real meaning shortly ............. (will probably be a while before I post any but will always try to when possible)

That's perfectly fine but just make sure your first test shots are of a duck.

Thank you Zhangyue! Love your train shots! The rendering of the old cron is really special too.

Adam, that's a weird image there Looks like out of a horror movie for some reason. Really like it.

Pandorf, very nice image. Like the moment and color contrast. What lens?

Gary, very strong set! Love the graffiti shots as well as that special moment at the bar.

Thanks Edward! That stuff (Unicum) is nasty. We did a food and drink tour and she started the group off with a shot of this strong herbal-type drink. All at 10am in the morning....
