I'd really appreciate having 1/8000 on the M as it would help shooting wider open in sunlight with the relatively high base ISO of 200 without having to resort to ND filters... Even better would be a true base ISO of 100 or 50, so long as performance/dynamic range didn't suffer too much at around ISO 200, which I find very useful for my typical f/8-11 handheld land/urban-scapes images. I have found, at least with the M240, and I think is accepted here, that it handles overexposure better than the M8/M9 and you can probably recover images at least a stop too hot.

I've been guilty of disappearing lately, too... When I had the pleasure to meet Gary in person last week, it was one of the things he mentioned. 
Yeah, 'real life' things come up... family commitments, work, friends, travel, etc. But thinking about this more, it's not so easy to separate some virtual, online aspects from 'real life.' In fact, groups like this over time develop bonds and sow the seeds for friendships.
I've met more people in person from this FM thread than any other online network. I've bought and sold relatively expensive gear with several members in this thread, none of whom I've met in person, which required a degree of mutual trust one would expect with friends.
I've been trying to find a balance between online and real world activity - to become less of a 'consumer of content' and focus more on my work/creativity/output. I'm not sure I'm succeeding in consuming less, or in a smarter way.
As for creativity, there are certainly motivational factors..., or lack thereof. A running theme here seems to be lack of inspiration, which I'm also feeling lately.
I need to give this more contemplation, but feel it's based in the question about the ultimate value/merit of my images, in the grand scheme, as well as the logistical hurdle of a mountainous image backlog, combined with non-photographic things I should also look after. I have the feeling of being weighed down and struggling to move forward.
It's easy to shoot something. But should I, just because I can, or because I like the process? It's definitely part of the fun, if not the majority of it, compared to the post processing, organizational and archive maintenance aspects...
Anyway, here are some images from a day trip to the beach at Grand Bend on Lake Huron with a friend and her son. It was somewhat windy, resulting in fairly strong waves. And it was a bit cool. Therefore not a great day to go in the water, so instead her son spent a fair amount of time 'feeding' sand to the lake and playing chicken with the waves..

I feel I am really stretching myself even post any images regularly. My life has been very busy with kids and works. 
I love that #1, That is a Leica image.
