Burningheart, thank you for your comments!

Zhangyue, the colors are exquisite, especially the greens in the last shot, and the atmosphere is surreal. Love the 1st shot. Very nice!

Gary, lovely landscape as usual. How did you clean up the purple cast?

And Happy Canada Day to our many Canadian members

Well since everyone's already doing it, I just updated as well.

Yes! I have no idea why it's even there, it's such a distraction!

Yep, because you keep thinking that you've accidentally engaged auto-iso or auto shutter. I just turned off auto-iso in manual mode and it went away... Pity though, that they overlooked that.

Zhangyue - lovely shots, really neat weather to be shooting in.

Gary - fantastic landscape, as always.

Turned off too. It doesn't make sense to me to use auto iso in manual mode. I would switch to manual to override the auto settings in tricky lighting.

I'm already back yesterday, Adam.

Anyone tried the new firmware?

Been using the firmware for a couple of days.
It's a pretty neat update. The EV+- compensation on the rear dial has been my favorite
feature so far. Also, LIVE view showing ACTUAL view with settings has been nice.
(Yes, you can press the button half way and it will take a picture with the settings matching
to the preview that you are seeing) lol. Also nice to see the crop lines in LV for square images
since I am posting to instagram now.

Haven't messed with too much more, but it's great so far.

Funny you ask! Actually, for this picture, I forgot to change the lens detection setting back to automatic so it was still set for the 21mm f/2.8 (non-asph) lens setting. This pic did not have any color cast and didn't require any corrective adjustments. Even when I have my ZM25 set at the usual (24mm f/2.8), I rarely have to fix any color issues. Perhaps about 5% of the time I need to fix it.... I really hate to use Cornerfix or otherwise and I usually just crop a bit off the frame to get rid of the offending color. Maybe this 21mm f/2.8 setting will be best for the ZM25? I will have to test out some more...

Thank you Gary! That indeed would be a fantastic discovery. I have tried the 24/2.8 and 28/2.8 profiles recommended by Zeiss and the results are not perfect. If the 21/2.8 profile turns out to be better, this is excellent news. Like you, I hate to use cornerfix and usually crop the bad areas or just leave them as they are.

Great set Allen! Do you find much of a difference when shooting in NYC vs. Chicago?
Love the mountain scenes Gary!
Joakim - great to see some Stockholm scenes and love the clouds.
Edward - first one is kind of humorous/interesting... everyone seems to be looking in the direction of his crotch..
Very nice Arka!
Great colors Michael! Really like the vertical of the kids running on the beach and the green field & fog on the previous page. Using your M9 much?

Here are some from Leslie Street Spit in Toronto. Never had been there and had the chance to explore for a couple hours one evening. Decided to look around instead of sitting in rush hour for a couple hours... Turns out it's my kind of place - a manmade environment with a surprising wealth of compositions underfoot among the chaos. I'm sure a lot of it has been 'curated' by other visitors...

M240 and 50 Lux ASPH for first, 21 SEM for last two.

Firmware: I was going to hold out until after the next week or so of weddings, jobs, etc... but after browsing LUF it seemed like a pretty clean update without any obvious complications reported by others, so just downloaded it now. Seems to be OK...

Favourite features right now:

Level/horizon overlay during live view. Would have been very useful for the last two above. I was jammed up against rocks and it was rather difficult to see the live view display well and accurately judge if I was level.

Peaking seems to be stronger, but I so far still prefer to leave it off.

Just like movie credits, sometimes they're as entertaining as the actual film. In the case of the firmware update, I think credit should be given to whoever thought up the update/progress screen. Instead of a boring progress bar, it was a refreshing pattern of squares of various shades seemingly randomly animated, I guess with the degree of activity reflecting the actual update activity. At least it gave some reassurance that something was happening!

Also, did anyone catch the post on LUF by the guy who has written a script (Mac only at this time) to fix the M240 green shadow cast problem?

Very nice, makes me wonder what lens you used. Looks like the lens has some curvature of field, so my guess would be either a summilux 75 or a summilux 80
