Can you all live with the loud shutter sound of the A7R though?
Shutter sound is TERRIBLY loud Joe!!!! (note the four explanation marks). If I end up ever getting a new Sony, I will wait it out for at least the next version.
Edward, i'd be LIVID if that happened to me. that's inexcusable....but I admit not enough to switch to Sony.
do you have a Twitter account? bitch about it at Twitter...it has done wonders for me...most recently with Nikon.
what you can also do is send a snail mail (yes, with stamp and all that ) to the VP of customer service (or equivalent) then cc the CEO. that has done wonders for me, too.
just be polite but firm in explaining your frustrations.
Thank you Dexter, Doug! After a lot of bitching they agreed to send the camera to Solms. If they have to dismantle the camera to change the sensor, at least it should be done by the guys who actually build these things. Now let's see how long will it take.

GREAT! that's good news. once you get the M9 back...show those bastards...sell the M9 and get an M240...
i'll send that tweet and/or letter anyway. you might get that M9 back sooner than expected.
Edward, good luck and hope your M9 comes back soon, and maybe incarnated as a M240

Color or B&W?
Color, although I think the B&W could do with a little more processing to stretch the lights and darks? ... and thanks for the info on the A7R shutter sound, I'll stay away as long as I can resist.

Lovely work everyone! Very inspiring!
Just a short rant about my M9:
After I was led to believe my camera will be sent to Germany for sensor replacement, I finally found out it was sent to Singapore instead. Leica Singapore provided me with an inspection report saying the camera has a delaminating sensor. It will be repaired in Singapore after they receive the new sensors by end of February. The report mentions that the camera was delivered without a body cap.
Now I sent them an email inquiring about what happened to the original body cap that was on my camera when I delivered it. No reply.
Then I sent another email asking them to send the camera to Germany instead, and if they are unable to do so, to send the camera back to me without repair so that I could either use it until they have received the sensors, or send it to Germany on my expense. No reply.
I contacted Customer Care in Germany about this issue. No reply.
Now I'm very confused and upset. It's like my camera belongs to Leica and it has been only loaned to me to use it for a rental fee of 7000$. ...Show more →
I would call or email Sunil Kaul <[email protected]> if I were you. And I would find out what exactly is going on.. Because that's ridiculous that your camera is in Singapore. From what I last heard my friends camera is in Germany for sensor replacement (he has an M9 and he's living in Singapore). Oh and that body cap thing is nuts (I mean considering the cost of those things, and the lvl of care obviously not taken).
Thanks for comments and likes on my previous photo. Sorry for being so lazy with comments.
Gary, I'm too is teaming up with the b&w group and I agree with Joe that I would like to see some more processing. Maybe so simple as some vignetting and a tighter crop.
Joe, nice work with the Noctilux.
Doug, I liked what you did with the second one in post.
