OOB has been pretty positive so far. Camera is pretty intuitive for someone that has owned an M9. LV seems pretty cool to have. I see some things that seem like they have more dynamic range, then I see other things that don't seem quite as crisp. I believe it is going to take a little time to get the hang of the camera. Its not the same to shoot, but I see a lot of potential I think. It's been a pretty hectic afternoon and evening, trying to get charged, had to run an errand dealing with my Mom's property. Just several things going on today. Software download, etc... (Lightroom). I like the shutter sound, very stealthy! Camera feel is pretty good.
Unhappy to see same camera strap hookup as M9 (I do not like that strap. I stole 2 triangle metal hooks off an old camera that doesn't work, and went with my normal neopreme quick release strap with as much protection for camera mounts as possible.

I may just stay up all night, I am getting giddy with anticipation, ha. Like a kid on Christmas. Come to think of it, tomorrow is my Christmas and Birthday too, lol.
Merry X'mas and Happy B'day Doug.. congrats on the M240!
Great shots all! Been away but lurking when I have time.
3D.Doug - Things won't look as "crisp" because of the increase in dynamic range IMHO. Congrats though!
After a lot of angry emails to Leica, my APO is on it's way back, unfortunately I leave tomorrow for Japan, and it won't arrive till Monday.. So I won't get to test it while away, and will only get to play with it when I return on the 29th.
So when I return I'll be testing it like crazy... See how it's improved, and see if it's lost any magic etc!
Adam, if you can redirect it to me, I can take care of it for you while you are gone. I would do that for a friend... We're friends, right?
To bad you missed getting it back man!
Thanks guys for all the congrats. If I need to float a loan to pay for this sh.. does anyone own a bank? It's gonna be a little tigher than I had hoped, if I dont' sell my M9, and I will not give away my M9, I will keep it first. I'll figure it out.
Bless the credit card Gods though, my statement closed on the VERY day my charge was sitting there pending for the new M! That blesses me with an extra 30 days "net" pmt terms, Whew! (where is that bullet sweating icon)...

I'd have redirected it to Tokyo if I could. Would have loved to do a 50mm shootout over there.
I guess it's better this way anyway.. Since I am only bringing one lens, the Noctilux.. So it'll get lots of love.
I finally quit messing around with my OOF 50 lux that needs to go back to Leica for adjustment, and got my 35 Lux out. Much better results in 3 snaps indoors, handheld, at 500 ISO.
The nikon noct has always been known for it's low light, and night performance. It's truly what it was designed for. For the forseeable future, mine is as close as I will come to a .95 Noct. lol.
Thanks for the examples Paul. You are selling yours though?
I bumped into a Dr Iftikhar earlier today while dropping off a job to one of my hospital clients and he told me that he is selling his huge Leica collection. We've had many great conversations over the years about Leica. I can't believe he is selling his entire collection.
Check out some of the cameras he had. http://images1.bonhams.com/original?src=Images/live/2013-11/12/S-21288-0-1.pdf
