The M9 has been on my radar since it was released, because, at the time, I wanted something smaller than my A900, but I never got the nerve to make the jump. I'm pleased so far.
I think the new M-E was an interesting move by Leica, because it'll likely hold M9 prices for a while, since the M9 is a slightly better camera. That's why I figured I'd jump in now, since I don't expect it M9s to go much below $4K anytime soon. The good thing about the M-E is that it'll add more time to the availability of M9 parts and what not.
Thanks Doug and vovkinson. I agree about the M-E's place and gives some longer term security for existing M9 users. I think Leica put it out there in part to appease those who want a new camera with warranty, but also to make it an extremely easy decision for those looking for an updated camera. The only choice in this case is the new M. Had they released an M-E variant with updated electronics, it would have significantly muddied the divide between it and the M.
Yeah, the interesting thing will be for users, like myself, who don't really care about many of the new features of the new M, outside of maybe the weather sealing and the potentially better high ISO. When it comes out, I'll have to decide if it's worth spending the money on high ISO that I don't really need all that much.
Edward. that B&W planar portrait @ f2.8 is excellent! Love it.
Douglas, congrats on the M9 and an excellent introduction shot! Adorable family picture. Hope to see more of you pics and thoughts on the camera.
wstam, very nice set. #2 is my favorite and congrats on the M9.
vovkinson, very nice set. The B&W shots #1,6,7 are excellent!
Ron, excellent use of the 50Lux. The first shot seems like an optical illusion to me. The woman and branch seems to be on a different plane or depth but both appears sharp!
Wow... congrats WeeSin and Justin
WeeSin, very nice series. I like the muted PP'ing and the almost cross processing look
vovkinson, excellent set! Really like #1, 4 and 6
Ron, fun pictures! Great take on the different perspectives
Joe, yes we do need to justify our M system purchases! Mine was selling all my old gear, that had accumulated in my cupboard over the years

Vovkinson: Very nice and strong set. Can't pick a favourite, they're all outstanding.
Ron: Lovely shots of your aunt. Your lens must have a problem though, it's always rendering the dog OOF
Marc: Love that shot. You must have been venturing into some interesting places recently
Andrew: Amazing set! All great but I love # 1 and 3.
Marc, love that shot and Nocti
Andrew, great series! Love your wide open shots with the 50 Lux
Bruno, another very nice street capture.
Edward, beautiful examples of shape and form. The ZM 50/2 is a great lens!!

Dan, most definitely a keeper!! Love the rendering in the first shot
Edward, very nice, I do prefer the B&W version
Ron, beautiful shots! Excellent compositions in simplicity and colour.
Bruno, love your street shots, particularly #2!
Couple more wedding shots M-M and 50 Nocti f/1.0.
Very nice, Charles.
I did go through your wedding shots you gave a link to a few weeks back and they were very good. It didn't look like you were the main photographer (pardon me if I'm wrong), but from what I've seen of some of my friends wedding shoots, the candids from a friend whose an excellent photographer are always better !! I bet the couple were very happy with your shots.
