A couple of shots from the Liljeholmen/Gröndal area in Stockholm. It's sort of interesting (and would have been more so a couple of years ago) as the area is going through a major transformation from an industrial area into a residential one. There's not much industry left today so it's worthwhile to explore and photograph before it completely disappears.
Thank you Joakim and Luka
Joakim, yes the 50 Nocti f/1.0, does render quite differently and does need a different PP'ing workflow compared to the 50 Lux
Telluridestock, really like the first shot
Luka, amazing set of shots! Great design, colour and PP'ing
Dear m-mount users. You all started somewhere... what do you think of starting with something like a Biogon T* 35/2 ZM? The two main focal lengths I use are 85/35. Then 24 and 16 have much smaller peaks. So I figure 35 would be the best place to start, but wonder if the Leica Asph 35/2 is really that much better, I have no idea. Then again, the old question of, why buy a Leica if you're not going to use Leica lenses ? rings true... I wish Zeiss did something telephoto and faster than the 85/4, I wonder if they'll ever 'replace' the 85/2...
I am aware that this is the M9 thread and as you guys know I have submitted quite a bunch of photos taken with this camera. However, today I would like to show a photo taken with the Nikon D200. I wish it was taken with the M9 but it wasn't. The reason to show this photo is that it made it to the 5 finalist photos among all the photos submitted to the Adobe Lightroom "Around the World" contest. If you liked my contribution to this competition, I would be very, very happy if you guys could support it by following the link and voting for me.
I know that the vote of the jury is highly subjective. So if you don't like the photo, no problem at all.

I haven't used the 35 Cron, but the Biogon is a very good lens. The MTF charts of the 35 Cron don't impress me too much, I mean it looks good, but it's not in the same league as many other recent Leicas (eg 28 Cron).

I no longer have this lens....
And I miss it dearly....
Cron 28 ASPH ...
Paul, that's a beautiful image .... as are the last two but I especially love this one. I can see why you miss the lens.
Bruno - that first shot nicely timed and processed .. hope it was Tanqueray
Luka - very nice. Looks like a great place for a walk. I love the second to last shot of your last set ...
Doug - great shots. Venice Beach must be full of interesting people shots. The Homeless man is great. Nice work.
Ocean - that camera looks very impressive. Nice shots, especially the 3rd.
Seekuh - congrats on the photo it's very good. Looks post-acopolyptic almost. The D200 takes awesome images at base ISO.
Charles - awesome as always. You seem to capture people at just the right moment. People on the street in Aus probably wont be as accommodating as those in Bangkok unfortunately In Hong Kong they want to kill you if you point a camera at them !
In Dubai for a few days for work. Went for a walk this afternoon along the wharf. The guys working around here don't seem to mind having their image taken which was so refreshing !!
Charles, #1 portrait is very nice. Focus plain is very sharp with everything else melt away. Nice one. 2nd one, the guy seems trying to keep away from you,
Luka, Like #1 the best, it has your style.
Himar, Very nice one. Wish I can vote, but no Facebook yet. Good luck.
M9 is still in service center. Here are some from M3.
Charles, splendid set with the Nocti. My favorite is the B&W lady.
Hilmar, very nice composition with the D200. Can't vote for it I'm afraid - don't have a facebook account.
Michael, love the "Red line" shot. Very expressive composition and use of colors.

35mm is a great focal length for an M rangefinder camera. As for Leica vs Zeiss 35/2.. the general consensus is that the Zeiss is optically better. The best 35mm is still however the 35 Lux ASPH...
-----------------------------------
I was going to go for a quick shoot in the evening with the M9 but I discovered that all my three batteries were empty. So plan B was a NEX with some Leica glass. No dice - flat battery. So I chose the X1. Although I thouroughly dislike using that camera the 24 Elmarit lens on it is just marvelous. The rendering has such a presence that I have yet to find a match for. The X1 may be a complete failure when it comes to usability but the image quality is truly remarkable.
Ricardo, there are many excellent 35's, CV, ZM and some of the older Leica's have wonderful renderings, and they are not so costly. The 35 Cron Asph is a great lens too. I feel the problem, is that sometimes there are too many choices
Deang, very nice shots! Very nice portrait setup with the 50 Lux and M8
Michael, beautiful portraits! Very nice PP'ing too
Luka, great play on composition of scenes. Love #2, 5 and 6
