Dan, really great portrait.
Charles, nice photos with the Nocti. The second one in the first set is my favorite and I also enjoyed the b&w set on the previous page.
Gary, well done with a great scenery. I like #2 the most, is this in Canada by the way?
Ron, it has been interesting to see your photos with the Nikkor. It has a very intriguing bokeh sort of chaotic that surely can be taken advantage of in more dramatic photos.

It has been a while since I posted last time. I wasn’t able to visit here as often as I wish and I prefer to have some images to share with post.

Boris, Nice set from Shanghai, I use to visit Shanghai at least twice a year when I am still in college, a bold city with lots of dynamic. You capture it well.

Gary, Nice set, I especially like the first on. It leaves me some room for imagination

Ron, I like the portrait showing here very much, and slightly prefer the 50lux version for its POP and high contrast. I think it is very good for man with age. You have too many excellent photos to comment in past several pgs.

Charles, Nice beach set. I especially like the last one: surfer in the sea. And I like your Taiwan series very much.

Dan, A very nice portrait. That is an admirable performance at 1.4.

I visited San Francisco past weekend and have very good time over there. Here are few from that day. All with VC35. The more I use it the more I can appreciate its performance. I used to think it lack Zeiss color and Micro contrast, and feel unexcited using it. With more time with it, and with more use of Leica Lens, I start appreciating its performance or I should to say I can expect its difference from ZF; WO is sharp with medium contrast, but no haze. Stop down has incredible performance sharp to the extreme corner. I feel it fall nothing short compare to even 50lux. Wish it smaller, than I will not have lush for 35lux anymore.

Joakim and Michael, thank you
Michael, excellent set of shots! Love the composition and PP'ing of all the captures. WO the CV 35 performs great, and very nice rendering stopped down

Michael, great expressive set - love the mood
Charles, excellent beach shots! My favorite is the last one.

Here's something you'll be seeing a lot in the future. My girlfriend and I recently bought a new apartment and we'll be moving in end of July. I did however take a walk around in the vicinity and here are a couple of shots. The first shot is from in front of the building - our balcony points that way (it's high up though, sixth floor). A challange to the Stockholmers here on this forum: Can you from the images tell in which part of the town it is?

Hi Luka, my guess is here

BTW, congrats and looking forward to the new views. Looks like you even have a reserved swimming area though in the satellite view I guess it's where the boats are docked.

Hilmar, very calming set and I love the feel of #2.
Charles, very interesting contrast in light and weather. Both are powerful!
Gary, very cute. You need to get her an EVF, if that's the NEX-5N.

Damn guys, you're good Yes, it's Gröndal. Spot on Ron - that's the building

This is the the view from the balcony (shot just taken for documentary purposes during open house viewing):

And thanks guys We're very excited we got it - it's a penthouse in an old industrial building and has some very cool architecture (sloped ceiling with 5 meters at its highest part, massive panorama windows overlooking the water and stuff like that). Anwyay, lots of nature, water and ducks nearby so you can expect a lot of shots from the area from me

Apart from the first shot, which was taken along the same shore, the rest of the shots are a bit more inland near Liljeholmen (the water is a small lake called Trekanten):

Very nice Luka. I haven't really taken a close look at Stockholm's layout and was kind of surprised to see how much water is around the city, and how green it looks, which in hindsight should have been obvious from your past photos.

I kind of got lucky and it only took me a couple minutes. Maybe in a past life I was an aerial photo analyst! I found two bridges that kind of looked right and figured by the EXIF time you shot facing roughly north, so must have been on the south side of a body of water with some boat traffic... The V-shaped path in the courtyard with the flagpole and the peculiar bend in the wooden walkway along the water's edge were the confirming details.

Looks like you got a nice spot in the building. Hopefully you're well shielded from the sound of the nearby highway. I think that would be my only concern about the location.

Ron, well, I'm impressed - good detective work

The problem with Stockholm generally is that the people who built the roads more than half a century ago got a bit overexcited and put big roads at the edge of all the central islands. As a result, it's difficult to find a place where you can actually get to the water without there being a major road. There are some exceptions - the street where I currently live (Kungsholms strand) is only a small road with little traffic, but there is a badass highway on the other side of the water. When you are on the balcony, especially during rush hour, there's a constant hum in the background.

One of the nice improvements of moving to Gröndal is that there's virtually no noise. Yes, there's a highway about half a kilometer away but what you don't see from the 2D map is that there is a pretty high hill inbetween that blocks all the noise. Furthermore the building is sort of U-shaped and the apartment is on the inner short side of the 'U' so it's flanked by the two wings of the building - suppressing noise from the side. So what you hear when out on the balcony is the sound of the waves, some seagulls and the occasional boat or duck passing by

So noise is not a problem. What will take some time getting used to is not living in the center of Stockholm. Gröndal is a bit off - you have to walk something like 15 minutes to get to the closest subway station. I'm used to having restaurants, shops etc very close. Having to take the subway to reach all of that will take some getting used to.. I think we'll also have to learn to cook.. seriously, look at the size of the oven in the kitchen:

Luka and Ron, thank you
Luka, congratulations on many fronts!!! Great news! Beautiful unit and location, and obviously very quiet, and learning to cook will be high on your task agenda I look forward to seeing another new perspective on your shots now Excellent set as usual.

Hilmar, beautiful lighting in your shots! Love the feel to #1 and 2, and rendering of the 50 Cron (II)

Luka: Wow, the interior looks great. I love the bricks.

I did a streetview from the highway during my initial 'research,' noticed the hill and guessed it might deflect some of the noise. Looks like you can take the tram/bus to the subway. It should save you some time, though walking is also healthy. I just read up on the Stockholm transit system and it's very impressive! I'd love to see even a fraction of that here, but that's highly improbable.

Congratulations Luka! Looks like a really nice place with a great view and super kitchen. I've only been to Stockholm a couple of times but have really enjoyed each visit. I may be out to Karlskrona this September again and I'll be sure to set aside a few extra days for sightseeing.

Lots of great shots!

Charles, the beach shots are great! I am trying to decide between a 75'lux or the 50 Noct/F1 either way it'll be kraft dinner for a while

P522 are great shots, I like the guitar player!

Luka, congratulations on the new diggs, they look sweet!

Ron, you are the detective! Great shots from the 1812 war re-enactment! The lux is very smooth compared to the nikkor, but I am luke warm on the nikkors bokeh in shot 2 (P523), some where in the middle would be more to my choice. But its just an opinion, and I am not a fan of super swirly bokeh either. Having said that I like the #3 & 5 shots on P522, perhaps its when there is some highlights...

Seekuh, shot 1 from the rigid is very nice, it really shows that lens well.

Boris, I asked about Shanghai, because I was recently there as well. The Confucius statue is is a good rendition of that temple!

Gary, love the painting with the view in the background (image1) super! Are you the artist as well?

If I missed anyone, forgive me, all the images are super!
