Charles, are you having to use the external viewfinder with the 24mm? How fast are you able to shoot with it? I'm asking because I'm wondering how it would be for for reportage and portraits.
Ajay and Gary, thanks guys!
Gary, you at least try out the 28 Cron
Siddhu, I have the metal CV 21/25 external finder. It is cheap, very small foot print, and is great that you have a 21mm FOV, for framing and composing. I never thought I would miss this having the external view with the RF window, after coming from DSLR's, but now I could not do without it. I find that even using the 28 Cron I do miss this, as this is the limit for the RF
Charles - very dramatic! I really like the one of the surfer looking out at the water.
Luka - great set, difficult to pick a favourite, but the circus tent and the shelter in the field would be my top picks.
Gary - excellent colour in all. Interesting to see many of the kids have their own 'proper' cameras rather than camera phones, but then, I guess most parents probably wouldn't buy kids this age their own iPhones or similar...
I spent pretty much all day at a War of 1812 re-enactment wandering around the encampments, making myself a nuisance . In all fairness, everyone there was very friendly and agreeable to being photographed, giving me some good opportunities to try various lenses, etc.
But here I will show just a bunch with the Nikkor 5cm f/1.4 that I've cherry picked
Ron - I really enjoyed those portraits! That would be a perfect event to get out and shoot with vintage lenses. Very nicely captured and pretty unique bokeh. Is that smoke in #1 near his face?
Charles - excellent set! I love the first three!
Boris - I think those are some of the best Shanghai skyline images I've seen from that popular perspective. Looks like you at least had a clear day. The daily life images are also great. I feel a bit uneasy about the meat sitting on plywood... how much old meat juice has been absorbed into that wood...?
Gary - you're on a roll with the great colours! I really like the first one.
Paul - welcome back!
Thanks guys for the comments..

Yes, it was a great event for such a lens, and yes that's smoke in front of his face. I have somewhat mixed feelings about the image because of that. It's not obvious enough that it's smoke, IMO, but otherwise I really like the feel...
Here's an image just moments earlier with the 50 Lux:
and again, for comparison, the one in question with the Nikkor:
Ron, thank you Great comparison with the 50 Lux and Nikkor 5cm! Both are excellent, but I love the feel with the Nikkor 5cm. I think the 50 Lux comes into to its own, in low light and contrast lighting
Yes Charles, it's interesting to see the differences. With the 50 Lux he seems to be cut out on a different layer. With the Nikkor there is more connection with the background. It might also be because the focus is a bit more to the front (this Nikkor is a bit tricky to exactly hit the spot I want).
Andrew, I'm back in Germany now. I spent only 5 days there and most of my time in businees meetings.
Gary, I really like your images #1 and #2. If you have a chance to visit shanghai do it, it is a great city. Especially the area south of the Yuyuan-Garden has some great options for street photography.
