I am still drolling on that 24lux Charles, i see that ith handles portaites well with very acceptable and minimal facial distortion. I think this will be very good for group shots wide open and still give a blurred back ground if needed.
Hilmar that nocti really shines.
Ryan, crisp colors.
Andrew, great shots. Those ordinary walls turned out as artworks. I like your picture fames as wll, what do you use to create them and showing those exif?
Mike, who says the M9 cant be used for sports?? Hehehe you clearly proved those who think it cant with that photo. Great panning and capture.
Ryan - Thank you, and love the photos from your 24 Elmar! We never hear too much about it, and I was wondering whether or not to splurge on one. What are your thoughts on it? I noticed that you have or had the ZM 25, which is also in my current short list. How do the two compare, and is the 24 Elmar worth the 2X price for something more than a stop slower? Thanks!
Charles - Love the "fun" shot. I think I'd be having fun w/ those photo subjects as well!! I'd drop by on the next shoot, but you are a little far from Houston!
Joe88 - Thank you!
Zhangyue - Thank you! Glad you were able to still take photos with the bad weather. Have you ever seen those DigitalRev videos with Kai? He's mastered the art of using an umbrella while taking photos at the same time. I haven't!
Mike - NIce panning photo. I need to master the art of panning. And congrats on your M9 and 50 Cron. From what I hear, if someone is going to use only ONE red dot lens, the 50 Cron is it. So you are off to a good start!
Michael - nice set. The B/W is definitely my favorite, I very much enjoy photos in adverse weather like that, adds so much
Mike - welcome to the forum....and great job panning with the M9! Thats a hard enough job in itself let alone on an M9 with a 50mm lens
Armando - I have had the ZM 25 and of course now the 24 Elmar. Looking at MTF charts will tell you it probably isn't worth the extra $1,200 or so for the Elmar. However, in use, there is a difference. They are both about as sharp as a lens can get. You don't need to stop the 24 Elmar down at all for sharpness, just DOF. The Zeiss renders in my opinion as a perfect, sharp lens. If you are taking shots of test charts there probably isn't a lens better than the Zeiss 25. However, in my opinion the 24 Elmar shows far more character. The rendering is different, and the 24 Elmar is just beautiful. They are both extremely flare resistant and I far more prefer the Leica starbursts to the Zeiss. The Elmar also has far smoother bokeh and is of course coded. I don't have to have Leica lenses b/c they say Leica, I would choose the 24 Elmar over the 25 Zeiss any day of the week.
24 Elmar
Edit: WOW these pics look different on my IE8 browser at work vs my computer at home. On my Mac at home they are so vibrant and my work computer so dull
Armendo, I enjoy watching his video. However, I haven’t used umbrella for more than 10 years a habit from college. I guess with D700 with Nikkor, I can certainly do that. But with Leica, almost no way, unless using Zone focus.
Mike, That is nice action shot. 50 cron? you must pretty close to it or is that a crop?
Ryan, Thanks and glad to hear your opinion about 24 L vs 25 Z. I will see if I can grab a used 24 L at decent price, otherwise, Zeiss seems meet my standard for architect and landscape shots with one stop fast and $1200 less. But your first one definitely shows its lovely rendering. I like it very much.
Charles, Nice set. I especially like the first one and last one. Though I wish there is more lighting on the face of that beautiful girl in first one.
Here are some more from that day at Lincoln Park.
50 rigid
90 Elmarit
Here a picture of my son from Academe of Science, San Francisco. (A beautiful architecture by Renzo Piano, I wish I have a wide lens with me.)
Charles, is that sensor blooming in the last shot?

A bit of both, this was taken between turns 6 and 7 at Road Atlanta and I was near the edge of the track, but I did crop it down a bit. Going to shoot IndyCar and Grand-AM event this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park...we'll see what I come back with.
Thanks to everyone else for the welcome and comments. I can't wait to shoot some more.
Armendo, I guess it is from SW of GG Bridge from the picture I was in front of Lincoln park to take those shots. I only have about 25 mins while my wide are still in the car with my sleep kids. Otherwise, I may be able to find some better location to get the frame better.
Nate, That is nice composition.
Charles, The first portrait are very nice. I like the rendering. My 50lux delivered yesterday. I haven't be able to do any shots other than check focus. Bingo, spot on. I will check infinity focus later on.
Gary, That is quite dramatic rendering and PP there. The number one POPs.
Ryan, This is a nice set with #4 is a outstanding picture. I like the contrast between the random of little plant with symmetric wall, nice compose.
Some green all with 90 Elmarit wide open. In the Golden gate park, in front of Academy of Science.
Its purple fringing. Probably caused by CCD or IR filter reflection or something like that.. Not a lens fault. If future Leica will have CMOS with some "normal" design, it will be thing of past.. Tho, it probably wont have same colors as Kodak CCD.

Bahahahaha I love it best trolling! I bet people on LCF are falling all over themselves in rage at this.
Got my 35mm summilux asph fle today. Looks good, very sharp (sharper at close range than I remember the pre-fle being) bokeh is fine.
Focusing ring is a little stiff but so was my 50 lux asph when new.

Mine has continued to remain very stiff.
