Charles, excellent portrait with the 75Lux.
Ryan, love the rendering on that 3rd shot.
Ron, another excellent set. Really like the 2nd shot - composition, lighting, contrast!

Ron, so glad to have you full speed coming back. I enjoy to see your urban series with careful composition and dramatic contrast and tone. My favorite on this page are the first one on first set,(I wish you could crop the sky out on that one) last one of 2nd set and 3rd one of 3rd set.
Darren, Nice night series. They are wonderful images. The star burst are beautiful. I am surprised to see such long tails of them. Are those associate with leica lens or flange distance of M system or even Focal length which alter the angle of light rays?
Charles, Another glowing portrait of 75Lux.
Ryan, My favorite is the leaf shot.
Joe, as for viewfinder magnification. It would be nice to have option with 0.58 and 0.85 if I could have two bodies; otherwise, for one body setup, 0.68 is good as is for my use IMO.
I wish I can shoot like you guys, but my personal life is bonded with family and kids at this stage. I am looking forward to have some travel back to China, there are a lot more interesting stuff to shoot than here. Some picture to share:

I almost missed out three pages of wonderful images since somehow I wasn't being informed that there were new posts added to this thread. So I had a glance at this thread today and realized that there were so many great pictures. Fantastic photos, everyone!

Currently, the Summilux 75 seems to be the star of this thread so I'd like to add some photos taken with this lens tonight after work on my way home:

Hilmar, very nice! I love the one of the bicycle, cups and the last one. The 75 Lux really shines in your hands (and Charles and Ryan's as well). Envious to see flowers have already been planted in the Hofgarten...

Michael, thanks! I enjoy your sets as well - you offer a glimpse into the life of a father. The triangular shape in the second image is very captivating for me.

I finally managed to get out and shoot a bit with my M9. I think that the aperture values were recorded incorrectly. most were shot at f/8.0 I have to say that shooting wide angles on the M9 is challenging...

Andrew, your compositions look good to me. Very clean feeling. I was going to say, London ON has changed a lot since I've last been there... then I saw the street signs. The 24 Elmar seems to be a real jewel.
Jochen - a very calm image!
Charles - again, great tones in this one too.

Thanks Ron, Joe, Michael

Ron - great sets you have posted! The shot of the columns and door is excellent on the last page. Great architecture, is that up in Canada? I also very much like the first shot of the last set with the shadows and stairs. Goes to show, a good photographer can always find a shot no matter what the conditions. I would walk right by and not even think about taking that shot.....need to be more aware

Michael - I really like your shots with the 50 Rigid Cron. The lens really seems to shine in B/W....the one of the boy looking out the window is fantastic

Hilmar - nice set with the 75 Lux! My favorite is the clock....is that looking thru a fence or something? How is it so sharp on the top and blurred on the bottom?

Jochenb - looks too cold for me . Nice shot, love the composition

Andrew - great colors in your set! All of them look very crisp. I like your positioning on the last shot.

Charles - The entire last set is excellent. Not picking a winner here, like them all . Great compositions, the one color shot is perfect in color with the others looking really good in B/W.

This was a test...I like the result, will have to try on a better subject and frame a little better next time. 18 shot pano with the 75 Lux wide open

Thanks a bunch for the comments, I am a new Leica user and these are my first attempts!

Ron, I really like your images, especially the processing. I was initially thinking that this look was more of a summicron look, but now I see that it is part of the Leica look. I too would have walked by the stairs... I also like the geometry of the railing, shadow and lines in image 4.

Charles. Thanks for clearing up the aperture issue, I was wondering if there was a problem. But after looking at the mount, I realized that there is no electronic interchange with the camera. The young Thai girl in your previous set is a very beautiful woman, and you captured her beauty very well. You have me wanting a 75 lux...

Thank you for all who take time to comment my photos. Really appreciate.

Seekuh, the bike shot is very nice.

Jochenb, that is a beautiful composition, which is more important in my lib about a good photo.

Andrew, Nice set, Very impressive clarity and very Nice PP. I especially like the composition of 5th one with 18 El.

Charles, The first portrait of elder lady is very nice. I can see more through her eyes. Must be a very kind lady. A B&W version would be interesting to see. The first picture of 2nd set has very nice composition. You are right about M9, there are three things I like about it: high quality& small lens, FF size&weight and out of box composition. All these make it an ideal tool for my daily use.

Ron, Whole set is impressive. My favorite is first and last one.
Ryan, interesting experiment. It must be very difficult for 75lus wide open PANO. What setup did you use for pano? As for Rigid, this is the lens hard to not love, it is very sharp wide open, though Bokeh is so so to me, but I start appreciate its not over to top contrast, leaving me some room to PP based on image theme. And I agree its potential on BW.

A question for experience user here, what is the benefit to have 24f2.8/f3.8 leica over 25f2.8 Zeiss? I don’t have the money for fast one, but need one on wide side for my kit, and I don’t know which one to choose.

Here are some pictures I got on my way to work. The weather is poor recently in Bay area.
Sonnar f5.6

Below is Sonnar wide open. I don’t have complains about wide open performance on this lens. It is decent sharp wide open, there is no haze at f1.5 but also with decent but not over contrast. It reaches a good balance as portrait lens to my taste. It calm down my desire for 50lux, but it is not versatile as an all-around lens unless I shooting fast than f2.8 all the time.

The Elmar 24 has slightly smoother bokeh, different (better?) colors and 6-bit coding (EXIF info etc.). I would recommend the Elmar 24, but the Zeiss 25 ZM is a great lens too.

Thanks guys!

Jochen, my web host upgraded the server my site is hosted on last night, which was probably the problem.
Charles, love the one of the man on the rock, and the portraits are fantastic as always.
Michael, the Sonnar looks good here for landscapes and the one of your son has a great feel. If you need something around 24mm and are on a budget, I would say get the Zeiss. It will be a great lens and if you really want to, can save up for the Leica Elmar. I haven't tried the Zeiss, and the Elmar only briefly, so can't really form a thorough opinion about it, but was impressed that it was already great wide open. Going with the Zeiss will also give you a feel for how much you will need f/2.8 vs. f/4.

Here are a bunch of signs from part of my walk around an industrial area last evening... granted, some are not compositionally spectacular, but I love the weathered quality...

M9 and 50 Lux for all except the second with the 90 Summarit.

Michael - the pano was done handheld....I let Adobe CS5 do the hard part . I very much like your last shot posted with the Sonnar. I have heard/seen such varying opinions on the Sonnar. The few I have seen from you are all very nice and smooth, while still looking to be sharp for the most part

Charles - Great portraits! #2 and #4 are excellent. You always come away with such great portraits from the people in the villages.

Ron - Nice sign set . The rendering of that 50 Lux is just beautiful. Excellent lighting

Gary - great set! #2 is my favorite, though #4 is also excellent. Great composition on both

Some more with the 75 Lux....quickly becoming one of my most favorite lenses used for any format

Ryan, thank you Very nice set again! Favourite is #1

I am really enjoying using LR4 now with the M9 files, as there is very little adjustment needed for skin tones. The integration of using all LR4, CS5 and Bridge is working brilliantly, and it's great be able to publish directly into Blurb books, with the new book tab. I have all 3 programs open when I PP now. The worst thing now, is I am finding I rePP'ing a lot of older shots, as they have a very different look now. There are still some quirks, and hopefully will be addressed in later updates.

Thank you, Jochen, Charles, rsolti, zhangyue.

Jochen, great photo. Love the isolated person and the White Balance you picked on this one. The snow is so clean.

Andrew, you are right that shooting a wide-angle lens is sometimes difficult. I like the second picture best.

Charles, the portrait of the Thai lady is gorgeous. Nice post-processing and colors. - The man sitting on the rocks is a great image. Love the B/W tones. - Like the portraits taken with the Summilux 50. I can see the strong contrast this lens draws.

Ron, apparently you love playing with colors, shadows and light. You do this in a wonderful way and your photos are very fascinating although (or because?!) they show rather ordinary items. Well done.

Rsolti, the clock on my photo is sharp and blurred at the same time because there was a translucent blue sunblind in front of one of the buildings that served me for shooting through it. - I like how you handled the contrast in the photo you took of the tree. - I love the photo of the kid! Did you add a strong vignette?

As you mention Blurb, how do you like their quality? I ordered a book of my best images of 2011 and like it a lot. However, a book is a book which means the quality of the prints can't be as good as it is when printing on photo paper. This is obvious, however I haven't found a way of dealing with my photos: which ones do I print on photo paper, which ones do I include into a book? How do you guys handle this?
