Dan, thanks The area was closed, so we could only venture around outside the fence. There was some very neat equipment to explore, so not a lot of shots!
Ok...some 75 Lux shots. My copy is 100% spot on. I have heard horror stories so very happy about that. However, it is HARD to focus 100% accurately every time
From the pics you posted, I see a gentler and smoother rendering on the 24Lux compared to the 28Cron (or 35Lux). Do you agree? The VF blockage kind of bugs me. Have you considered the 21SEM or 24SEM?
I love my 28Cron, even better when looking at the prints!
Joe - #2 - black this time. I got a deal on an M9 that I couldn't pass up. Was planning on getting the M9-P but didn't work out. You got it on the Lux .
And....what is the opinion around here. I want a small 50. My lenses I have right now are relatively large (especially 75 Lux and 35 Nokton). What about the 50 Summarit and Voigtlander 50 Skopar? Are they that far apart?

I tried a 50 Summarit very briefly recently and really liked the results. It was sharp wide open at infinity and the bokeh at close distance was not the pure gaussian blur of the 50 Lux ASPH, rather it had a bit more character, though still not overly strong. It focuses to 80cm, so not quite as close as the ZM50P or 50 Lux ASPH at 70cm. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in place of my ZM50P. Very nice size as well, but of course at Leica prices. I haven't tried the Voigtlander so can't help you there. I believe Daniel has/had one.
Great set on the 75 Lux as well... keep me at #2 on the list if Joe doesn't come through when you want to sell.
Gary, like the mailboxes and manhole cover.
Nice one Joe!
Charles - have been enjoying the beach photos very much! I would be interested in hearing more from you about LR4, especially if you can post a some comparisons with/without the Leica lens profiles. I'm curious what the profiles fix...
Hilmar - that was a great foggy night set! BTW, my flight home was that morning, so I enviously watched the fog during the train ride to the airport. I wish I could have stayed a day longer. Also, I have taken that same walk a few times, since it quite conveniently passes the Leica store on my way to the Isar.
Charles, very nice pics. They did not appear a few hours back when I posted. Sorry can't really tell on rendering as I'm looking at them on myiPhone now.
Charles, very nice pictures on this page. I seems feel your image changed a little with edit in LR4. it seems has more contrast and punch, I slightly prefer the new look.
Ryan, The first picture looks very special. As for small size 50, may I suggest 50 cron rigid. It is very small and with very nice bokeh and decent sharp wide open. It is also qualify as most beautiful lens in the world IMO. The first copy I acquire from Ebay has some haze and low contrast. The 2nd one I got is sharper and contrast. It can get flare some time but many time the flare will do good to picture
Gary, Nice set, especially #1.
As for LR4, I have been using LR 4 beta on and off for a while since it is introduced. I notice it has much better highlight recovery compare to LR3.6, the same picture with blown highlight in LR3.6 could bring back at LR4. I don't know how come this could be, but it seems increase the dynamic range of the image. Also exposure, shadow, white and black slide has less effect to each other compare to before. Contrast and clarity seems also do its job without or with less mess up color purity and sharpness. (I feel it almost like edit in LAB mode does.)
The problem is it is slow compare to LR3.6. When moving certain slide, you will notice it is lagging or unresponsive, make it hard to fine tune the slide. My computer is fairly decent: IMAC i7 2.93G with 16G mem. I have ordered upgrade hard copy and waiting it is delivery. Hopefully, it will get better with formal edition.
Joe - I have been thinking about that 35 Skopar. I have seen a couple for sale for a reasonable price. Probably worth a shot. I didn't realize the 50 Skopar was LTM, that 1m MFD would drive me nuts at that length. Maybe the 50 Summarit is worth a shot
