I have the LTM version (someone was selling it on ebay as the nikon S version so it went cheap). I use a 35/135 ltm->m adapter and approximate from the outside of the 135 framelines.
It isn't that easy to focus, but focus on mine matches my M9. The focus throw is HUGE (like 300 degrees rotation or so) which allows fine tuning but it is agonisingly slow at times. My friend did a great job to nail the focus on that shot.
Ash, nice set, I seems see there is slightly red cast in your #2 and #3 images.
Charles, The 90 Cron leaf shot are very nice.
Daniel, The 50lux shot make me want this lens badly, I like the #2. and Last 21 shot.
A question, do you guys use viewfinder for lens wider than 28mm?
Zhangyue, thank you The external view finder, for less than 28, I use is the CV 21/25, the metal version. It is small and relatively cheap. For the 24 Lux, the 25 lines are accurate for me, and allows to compose outside the frame with the 21 perspective.
Dan, great shots! Loving the shots with the 50 Lux. Very nice composition and perspective with the 21 SEM. It is interesting, I can now notice the difference with the Nikkor 105. As much as the Nikkor 105/2.5 had been my favourite, I do prefer the 50 Lux now. The detail of the N 105/2.5, is amazing though!!
For the 24 Lux, the 25 lines are accurate for me, and allows to compose outside the frame with the 21 perspective.
Charles, could you estimate what is the actual coverage of the built-in viewfinder on M9 corner to corner and how much you actually miss with 24 - 25mm lens?
Here are some snapshots, shot yesterday, with my new 90mm Macro-Elmar lens from my daughters first day on skis. We both had some fun.
The 90mm Macro-Elmar is a nice little lens. Very sharp with smooth bokeh, but slightly diffcult to focus as most 90mm lenses on the M9 (even using a 1.4x magnifier).
At closer distances (portraits) I got about 40-50% sharp images at longer distances about 80-90%.
Since I don't use focal lengths above 50mm very often the small size of the Macro-Elmar is very attractive. I will definately keep it.
Boris, great shots! I really like the portraits and colours in the last shot Great lens!
Mark, you don't really need a external finder with the 24/25 FL, and if you move your eye around it will equate to about the 24 FL. Now having the CV 21/25 finder, it is small, and I love the ability to see outside the frame for composition. If you had asked about 18 months ago, having had only DSLR's, I would not have appreciated seeing outside the frame lines
Daniel - lovely SE shot on Kings Street.
Bobu - I'm really enjoying 1 and 4. Are these at f4? I am looking forward to seeing more Macro-Elmar shots as it is a lens I have considered, mostly for it's size, reach and 'macro'.
I had the Macro-Elmar in M8 times, and somehow I just couldn't get along with it. I think I just found f/4 too slow. Having said that, it was nice and compact, could get somewhat closer than any other M lens (without using a Visoflex), and it probably has the best boke of all Leica 90s.
Edwin, sounds good to me. I have 24, 35, 50, 75, 135. Sometimes selling the Lux 35 ASPH also comes to my mind because I use 24 and 50 much more often and don't miss anything in between so I guess I wouldn't miss the 35 mm. However, if I use the 35 mm lens which I rarely do I like it very much. In particular I like the photos taken indoor. So I may keep the lens but agree with you that you could leave 35 mm out.
Edwin, very nice set! Favourite is the high key portrait of your daughter. Nice feel to it!! Love that last portrait shot, your 8y/o son is a natural
Edwin, the 24 Lux is a great lens, but so is the 35 Lux Asph. If you are looking to enviromental people shots, the 35 or 28 FL is probably a better choice. My favourite is the 50 Lux, and yet for some the 28 Cron or 35 Lux suits them better. The 24 Lux, is more a specialist lens, and is harder to compose with people. Yet for street photography, in tight places the 24 Lux is great and so is the 21 FL capturing a lot of the environment but it is harder to compose without capturing a lot of unnecessary detail. It does depend on the size of the group.
For evening/low light shots where the shutter speed will be about 1/15s, I will use the 35 Lux FLE for informal or family gatherings and it is borderline at keeping a relatively nature and pleasing perspective of people's facial features.
My 3 lens kit is 24, 50 and 75 Lux, and I will also keep the 35 Lux nearby. Some will suggest that the FL's are too close, and yet I find the rendering of these lenses so different it does not matter IMO. Tough call!!
Edwin, I'm falling into a similar line up (CV28, 50Cron, 90 Cron pre-asph in mail now). I'm coveting the 50 Lux asph and may swap that with the cron...

Haha well spotted Ash! Are you in WA, going from memory or did Holly pick it?
Boris, #5 turns my wheels, good work!
I lived in Perth for about 4 years
Regarding the 'lens kit' discussion, it is not that relevant to me as I don't have an approved 'budget' However, if I were to select a set right now, I think it would be 21 SE, 28 Cron, 50 Lux and 90 Elmarit (maybe 90 Macro). While I love wide open rendering, I do want to smaller lenses, and I want to select 2 lenses to carry around for the day. All of the Lux lenses are quite large (and heavy in Chrome) - this is another reason I like the 28mm Cron so much (without the hood, or with a smaller metal hood) - it offers a unique style, relatively small, perfect focal length (on the M8 anyway) and relatively fast. I also love the focus throw, and feel of the 28 Cron, very easy and fast.
I currently have the 28 Cron and 50 Lux, and it turns out, as much as want to keep using the Lux, the 28 stays firmly attached. When the time comes to get an M9, I will explore futher the 35 Lux.
Boris, Nice set, I like the 4th picture of your daughter and last one, the clarity is incredible.
Edwin, The first picture of your daughter is beautiful.
During the weekend, I give my new acquire Elamrit and Summicron Rigid some work out. It proves Elamrit is really nice lens. Sharp and contrast with nice OOF. As for Summicron Rigid, is low contrast lens, I have to move 'black' a lot to give it fairly decent pop. I don’t know if it is from its design, as things get complicated that the element has some Haze with it. The handling is wonderful. Before CLA, I can’t draw much conclusion out of it. It is not for everything. Reminder me some old tube amp from Marantz 7 or Macintosh 240, it can’t do symphony but so good with vocal and small scale jazz. Any experienced user using this lens to chime in?
As for kit, My plan is 90 Elamrit M, (Good sharpness cross the frame and small size), 50Lux (My favorite FL, I know I will love it), 24/21 from either Zeiss or leica. (maybe a f2.8-f3.4 lens). But I have to have a 35mm in the bag; maybe a f2 lens Summicron for its size. It is so important focal length IMO. So If I bring two lens, it will be 35 & 90.
Elamrit f2.8
This one below is f2.8 1/30 ISO800 indoor, it looks like it covers my need for speed as for now. If I can hold it at 1/30s. (I do)
