Edwin, nice series!
Forgive me please if this question brings too much gear talk to this forum... I'm interested in adding a 90mm to my kit and I've been looking at an Emarit. Were your shots wide open at f2? Was there sufficient light to work at f2.8?

Luka - the hi-vis and the tree are very nice.
Charles - I also like the stairs shot
degenx24 - I love the lighting in your NYC shots, it makes me want to reprocess mine
A few more BVI shots: (ignore the dirty sensor - oops)
Still very unhappy with my PP - so much to learn! And I'm about 4000 shots with the M8 (my first rangefinder) and I feel like a need 50,000 more to get the hang of it...
Great shots all!
zhangyue - nice shots from the beach, really like that first one way up
Luka - Nice series. My favorite is the b/w of the wall. In your shot with the three way comparison, I agree with Joakim, the 100 MP is my favorite
Kelly - Nice shots with the 28 Ultron. I agree with Charles, the 90 Elmarit-M certainly has its followers. I am not one of them either. For stopped down landscape work it is a great lens. It is extremely sharp, not quite as sharp as the 90 APO Cron. It is sharper than the 90 Cron Pre-ASPH. For portraits taken between 3-10 ft, the 9 blade diaphragm really hurts it in my opinion. The bokeh is not smooth at all. Take a look at the shot below. I also tried the 90 Summarit and liked that one much better. Contrary to what most (who have not used both lenses) say, the Summarit IS the better lens in almost every way. It is slightly sharper from corner to corner through the range, 10 blade diaphragm, and is actually a f/2.4 lens. The Elmarit-M was the better deal 2 years ago when the price was under $1,000, that obviously isn't the case anymore.
Edwin - Nice shots from the concert. The files look fairly clean for ISO1250. I think going one stop from f/2 to f/2.8 would make a fairly large difference. F/2 would be a must in my opinion
Joakim - Nice shots with the 24 Elmar. I am having a hard time deciding on the 24 Elmar or 21 SEM.....I don't think you can go wrong with either
Ash - Great shots from vacation! My favorites are the last 2 boat shots, great colors!
Charles - The last post, what a beautiful shot that 75 Lux I can't wait to give it a go!
Kelly - 90 Elmarit-M at f/4
f/4.8
6 shot pano
90 Summarit at f/3.4
another one at f/3.4 right around the same place as the Elmarit-M shot above. Look at the difference in bokeh
Sebboh,Ryan, thanks for kind comments.
Charles, your 75lux shot is outstanding. 90 sample also shows what 90 cron can deliver.
Jona, He doesn't look like a Chinese to me
Denoir, Nice lighting and PP again.
Joakim, Like the 2nd one with star behind the tree.
Edwin, Nice concert set with good exposure and interesting lighting.
Ryan, Nice work to show with the 90 Elamrit. I especially love the shots with your daughter (I assume) as a father myself.
I recently bought 90 Elamrit here B&S based on MTF (It is on the way) It really can't be much better than it. I want 90 ASPH but my budget and focal length preference doesn't allow it. I mostly will use 90 outside, so 2.8 will not be OK. After M9, I start enjoy use lens not at wide open more and more. so f2.8 will not be a problem, especially for 90mm isolation background. And Ryan's pic confirm my assumption
zhangyue, I dig those shots with the 28 Ultron. I'm strongly considering getting that over a 28 Elmarit.
Those 75 'Lux photos are torture. Not sure I'll ever be able to pick that beautiful monster up!
Literally the first photo out of the M9 that landed on my doorstep today, paired with the 35/1.4 Nokt SC. Just a quick snapshot, but I'm stoked to use this camera (and I don't get excited by gear much anymore.)
Zhangyue and Kelly, thank you
Kelly, nice evening capture of your daughter! There are some amazing 75 and 90FL lenses. Reading the LUF, it is interesting just how contrasting perspective can be regarding the different lenses. It really comes down to feel you wish to see in your images
RyanF, congrats on your new M9 Very nice dreamy portrait! The CV 35/1.4 SC is meant to be great for B&W! I would err to suggest the 28 Elmarit over the Ultron. I have had both, and the ability of the 28 Elmarit for rendering black and white shots is amazing. Later of course I picked up the 28 Cron which is one of my favourites
Ryan, I just realize one of your 90 shot is with summarit, and that is looking good. Though, I can't draw any Bokeh conclusion based on these sample since the background totally un comparable. What is your opinion about them?
Kelly, You will remember that moment forever. Same as here, I can bring it anywhere with me. and My daughter keep saying the camera is beautiful compare my Dark Side D700. (Though I love it sooo much)
RyanFlynn, Nice BW shot.
and I don't get excited by gear much anymore.
You will, this is just a starting before you use its lens
I almost sold my Leica M9 a month ago, thank god that nobody want it as it resale drop as a rock. but after giving it more time, I enjoy it. I had some expectation regarding its raw file and the way shooting based on my D700, But M9 is different camera. I am paying more attention to work with it now. It is a totally new experience for me, and I love it.

How come leica could be wrong choice? The problem is the budget Just pick up Elamrit 90, a very nice lens, small and well build. snap shot at night in room show it is extremely sharp and contrast lens at f2.8. It is slightly front focused. In field, this won't be a problem, as I know I will be able to compensated and it is within human focus error. I will post some sample later.
Here are some shots from Summicron 50 I recent got from ebay. It is wonderful lens but has slightly haze with it. I am planning to have it CLAed later or return to seller if he can't partial refund
Some leica glow I never see this kind of rendering, totally non zeiss, interesting. I bet I can get this from any haze lens Just kidding. Low contrast but good resolution with smooth Bokeh.
My daughter after story time before sleep.
Some flower shots from today, I am not big fan of Flower shot,(but they are all over around my working place here in Bay area) so I put some dramatic PP to make them less picture like but highlight the rendering of the lens.
Edwin - you did well at the concert, I like 1 and 4 in the first series.
rsolti13 - #3 is my favourite here - neat portrait.
RyanFlynn - congrats on the M9, I feel the same way about all the new leica gear I buy
A few from the BBQ Cook-Off at the Houston Rodeo last night:

Good to hear. I love the tiny size of the 28 Elmarit, too. I'd LOVE a 28 'Cron, but I have my eyes on the prize (aka Noctilux) at the moment. Alas, my bank account can't bear both.
I want to share as well an experience in that concert... All those who attended with their dslr and huge lenses were asked to deposit their cameras to the security personnels. I had my M9 hang around my neck and one of the guards asked me, "is that a high definition camera?" and i just replied its just a fullframe rangefinder with manual focus lens and manual settings...and he said ok you can bring it in

Ha! That's great! The first time I took my M9 out in public (a couple of weeks ago) I had two people comment on my "old camera" ;-)
