Its hard to fathom that while its winter here its summer there. Typing this on a new tablet. Pretty cool. Going to be fun to put some photos on too. Sony S1. also works as remote control. Uses sd full size card
Man do I miss my M8 with the 50-lux and 28-cron. I also had the 21-Elmerit but I didn't much care for that one. I'm still kicking myself over selling the primes but frankly, I sucked at manual focusing or I'm simply too unstable with my balance. Great shots with some of the best glass around.
Leica M stuff for sale in the B&S, for those interested (EU) (M8u, 28 Cron ASPH, 35 Lux ASPH I, 90 Cron ASPH, CV15, and some other minor stuff): https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1076796
Carsten - that's a great opportunity for someone - I wish I had more $$ to pick up a couple, or all.
Thanks Charles. I forgot about humidity... that is one unfortunate summertime feature here as well.
Thanks Ed - Perhaps a year of LR under my belt has moderated my taste for clarity induced contrast, at least a little. I still use it, perhaps too much for some, but my early impression from 50 Lux images is that they respond somewhat differently. There is a bit of an inherent smoothness in them that can be overpowered with a strong hand on the clarity slider. The ZM50P images IMO almost seem to invite more contrast. Not that they're flat to start with, rather their existing bite works well with even more.
A few more Munich street scenes:
These aren't really anything extraordinary, though I am partial to the first. What I especially like is the smoothness of the tones. All were with the 50 Lux ASPH.
Ron, love the 50 Lux shots I particularly like how it renders the bricks on #1 and fall off into the background.
Dan, the 21 SEM is great! Very nice shots, particularly #2 and 3
2 & 3 are incredible. wonderful lighting and very nice to see weather like that considering it definitely doesn't look like that in Canada right now! lol
thanks Brody - it was about 1 degree c but the sunlight was fantastic. The model was absolutely frozen, we had a couple of huge coats for her to put on between setups being worn by the hair specialist, just out of shot

Ahh, it looks even warmer in the pictures! the models must have been a little cold.
Just my way down to work and it's round -25c. Some longjon weather if there ever was!
Charles, looks good, though different from your 50 & 75 street portraits, obviously.
Joakim, I'm partial to 2 & 3..
Mike, nice set. I like them all, including the bokeh of #1.
Dan. Wow, from a technical perspective, from what I can determine from 1000px web images, the lens looks spectacular. And reinforces my 'need' for it in addition to the Lux. What's your opinion of it vs. the ZM18?
Thanks Dan, Charles, Ron & Edwin
Ron, I like the mix of textures
Edwin, great set. #1 is my favorite.
Charles, something of a new subject for you? A very good abstract photo anyway.
Great shots all! I have been missing for a couple months but will be back shortly. NEX/Fuji X-Pro 1 look tempting, but nothing compares to the simplicity of the M if you ask me.
I just haven't had a single minute to do any shooting, this should clear up shortly though! I want a wide angle and don't know if I should go the 21mm SEM or 24 Elmar....both look fantastic.
Ron - love the shots you have been posting, the 50 Lux looks great in your hands....as does the CV 35 f/1.2. That lens has to be the best value of any lens in all formats (my opinion of course)
Charles - great work as always. I really like your 24 Lux shots on this page from the streets
Doug - the 24 Lux again....geez, you guys are making this one tempting
Great shots the rest of you. This is by far my favorite picture post on FM!
yeah, the 24 lux is a crowd pleaser. :-) No regrets on the lux except price!
I think the 24 Elmar would be a nice choice. Frankly, I'd have went it in a minute if I could have found one. I honestly bought the one new M lens I could find when I bought. I really wanted a 35 lux, and would have jumped at a 50 lux. I would probably have went 28 Cron before 24 lux, but again bought what I could find.
I am rather like you about other cameras, I find that not much can compare to Leica, my Nikon pro body stuff does pretty well for what it's designed, but budget cameras just don't seem right for me.
Welcome back! Ryan, right? I am horrible with names of people I don't know real well.
Joakim and Ryan, thanks
Ryan, there are so many new cameras that are becoming available, and more so this year, it will be very interesting. I do have an order for the Fuji X-Pro1, but I am now thinking I may cancel this order for now. The M system, is really so simple, despite so many quirks, nothing compares for now. Of course this may change next month
I really don't want to have another camera system, where I need to double up on lenses, batteries/chargers and work flow for another camera setup. It defeats the purpose of being light and ergonomic when travelling
