Joakim, Joe and Ash, thanks
Ash, nice low key shot!
Joakim, with my 24 Lux, I am using the CV 21/25 viewfinder. Very small, cost effective and love the fact you have the 21 and 25 lines, as you can see outside for composing with the 24 Lux
Really nice tones here Charles. Just curious what aperture you prefer with this lens for your walk around images? BTW, I found a retailer with the 21 Lux in stock... so tempting, but will make a mess of my finances. And I'm kind of set on getting the SEM21... though I love 21mm and could see a use for both.
I have a favor to ask of the US residents here.... Would someone be willing to place an order for me with rainbow imaging for a few of their cheap lens hoods, then ship the order to me here in Canada? The hoods I want will total only about $12, including shipping, plus whatever postage will cost for further shipment to me. I would order directly, but they're not set up for non-US orders, even though their website implies they will ship to Canada. So far their customer service has not offered a solution, so I thought I would ask here... If someone is willing, send me a PM and we'll figure it out.
Charles, you make me droll on that 24lux everytime you post your pics with it
Ron, i have ordered from rainbow imaging thru amazon for quite some time already and had no problems having the items shipped to the Philippines. So i think you can order it yourself
Ron and Edwin, thanks guys
Ron, I have using for these evening shots f/1.4 mainly, some 2.8-4. I really like these f stops, in the way the lens paints. You have an interesting choice between the 21 Lux and SEM. The 21 Lux is another superb lens, but so is the 21 SEM. Why don't you try the 21 Lux if you have a chance. I know the 21 Lux, is larger and heavier than the 24 Lux, which is why I settled for the 24. But the Lux's are so very different, as a lot of the subtle rendering is not so obvious on the screen, but are amazing with large prints
Thanks Edwin, but Amazon won't let me... I put the items I want in the cart but then get a warning message that they can't ship to Canada... and Amazon Canada doesn't seem to have the equivalent items. Rainbow's customer service has indicated they can do something for me through Paypal, so we'll see if that works, it just seems to take them one day per message...
Thanks for the info Charles. As far as the 21 Lux is concerned, it's not a local retailer, so it's probably for the best that I can't easily stop by to take a look at it
My M8 is nothing but fun, haven't enjoyed taking photos this much since I got my very first camera. Yes it's a noise machine beyond ISO 640 but who really cares when using this thing makes you smile, and then you get home and watch the pics on your computer and then you really start to laugh because, oh boy this camera doesn't seem to know the concept of "unsharp".
Taken with my newly acquired M-Rokkor 40/2 (tack Kosmoskatten). Tack sharp but lacks the micro contrast of modern lenses I suppose. Requires plenty of added contrast in post, but then you get these amazing colors you didn't know existed in Sweden during winter ... My only complain so far is the annoyance of having the wrong frame lines.
Ash, nice capture
Edwin, really nice series!!! Shame about the 24 Lux
Jonas, love this series, particularly #2
Peter, superb shot! Love the composition
Peter, nice shot. How does it look in color? But i guess the b&w works for this shot.
Charles, thanks. I was using the 35lux the whole time in that trip though i brought along the 50&90 cron. I think in family trips like this a 28 or a 24 would have been a better tool.
Edwin, it would seem the FL of 35 really suits you I do really like the 50 Lux, as the main work horse, if I am just carrying a single lens for the day.
Jonas, nice rendering of that lens and great use of colors in that set
Edwin, I like the first portrait from HK disney world
Peter, good composition and b&w conversion
Nice Jonas, I really like the second one. Great colors.
I was always curious about the X1. Saw lots of nice photos coming from that elmarit lens.
Very different from the results I get with my zeiss glass.
Found one second hand locally for a great price, so I decided to give it a try despite all the negative talk about it on the web.
I had a sigma DP2 in the past, and I liked it (mostly due to the foveon sensor). In many ways it feels the same as the X1. Slow, useless LCD,... but nice results.
One of the first shots I took with it on my way home from the seller:
charles.K, edwin_sn, joakim, Jochenb & AshNZ thank you for your kind words, #2 is my favorite as well. Many good photos in this thread, very inspiring.
kosmoskatten: Yep I'm a bit surprised how well it performs, my initial plan was just to keep it until I find a used ZM35/2. Might be wiser to save up for a tele instead. Have you tried your Summarit 75 enough to recommend it?
