Doug, that 50 nokton gave you a bit of a strange output there with the apples. I wonder what that is coz i never experienced anything like it with mine.
here are a couple of the 50 nokton taken awhile back...
Charles, wonderful set again. now that 24 lux is really somethin in the hands of a photographer

Edwin, I think the 'strange output' is due to camera movement picking up bright enough ambient light during the slow shutter speed while synced with the flash used to light the apples...
Sirimiri, Joakim and Edwin thank you, much appreciated
Edwin, very nice captures! Yes, I agree with Ron too, as to the strange output, slow shutter speed, and freezing of the action with the sync'd flash in the shadow. Sometimes this has a great effect for group shots at functions.
Charles, excellent portraits! My favorite is the last one
Edwin, very nice shots. My favorite is the first one
I haven't had time to do any photography in the past few days, but here's one I took two days ago. My girlfriend accidentally knocked over a wine glass and by the time we got around to cleaning it up it had partially dried. I liked the pattern it formed so I grabbed the M9 and took a shot.

Great for me anyway, but I'm not tellin'!

I have to ask - was this "accident" when the bottle was almost finished?
Hehe, no, it was actually the first glass and we never finished the bottle because of other priorities
I usually don't give such narratives to my images but it got me thinking about the connotations we make to certain types of images and how context matters a lot. Broken glass, the splatter from a dark red liquid usually have an ominous feel to it giving you the impression that something terrible happened. In this case however the exact opposite was true. With it put into context the image gets a completely different meaning. So I have been thinking if it would be an interesting thing to explore in photography - do pairs of images one where the content implies something followed by one that sets it in the right context and showing the implication to be completely wrong.
Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud

Edit: Edwin, very nice composition and overall look to that second shot
Thanks Edwin, the Buddhist offering shot has marginal PP'ing in Lab mode in CS5. The colour were all there. Very nice shots and PP'ing! Favourite is #1
Nice hipshots Corposant, do you think that magenta cast on the deck of pic #2 could be eliminated if you had a uv/ir filter on your lens?
Charles, im amazed at how that 24lux makes that background blur with that wide angle shot. I like the color on the second shot, very vivid.
i just received my 35lux asph I this evening which i got from the B&S board here. I believe its a wonderful lens. But i am not yet totally impressed with my first few shots
a comparison with the cv35/1.2 nokton II and the 35lux asph I
putting it one on top the other hehehe ... not a very scientific comparison, but for everyday shooting i wont actually notice the difference.
35nokton II @ 1.4
35lux asph I @ 1.4
i will definitely be keeping the lux over the nokton, the size is just a very big factor

Hmm, probably not, it's a quality related to the film. I can make it go away by adjusting the white balance, but that changes the complexion of the colors globally. I could take it into CS5 to mess with the color curves directly, but who has time for that?
Definitely not a scientific comparison, but you are right, for most purposes, you'll probably never notice a difference!
I really wanted a case that would be like a body glove for the M9 with a single lens on it. I guess sort of like the 35mm clamshell cases of old, that I grew up with. Well, I didn't find that of course, but I did find a Lowepro TLZ Mini and configured it with Think Tank strap with metal buckles, and finally, I think I found the perfect single lens over shoulder case! best of all, it was in my bins of cases from other cameras. :-) Being a gear ho does have it's advantages. lol.
I knew I remembered having it, but I was not certain I still had it. Found it luckily.
Edwin and LL, thanks LL, yes I am back in Oz, but a lot of shots left un'PP'd
Edwin, nice portraits! I do feel the 35 Lux Asph will work its magic. IMO, it is a stunning lens. I have noticed using different lenses, I am mindful of needing different PP'ing.
