Ouch Adam. Those small funky white dots look very strange.
I'm curious about what's wrong.
Reminds me a little bit of the time the sensorcoating of my 5D got eaten away by eclipse cleaning fluid (luckily eclipse took full responsibility for it).
Very nice portraits Charles - the lens really makes a difference in creating something other than the standard Canonikon portrait look

Still really struggling with the not-so-good low light capabilities of the M8, but occasionally it gives interesting results.
Martin, welcome to the very exclusive "28 Cron owners one visible leg club"
As for the M8 and low light capabilities.. well, let's just say your timing is a bit off. Picking an M8 just as the Swedish Winter Darkness (TM) approaches is like picking out a really nice pair of shorts for an arctic expedition

Yeah, which is why I wouldn't ever directly put the fluid on a sensor. That and, those dots were there before any cleaning of the sensor ever took place. It's just that conventional cleaning did nothing for the dots
Anyway, nice photos guys, I've been randomly clicking through the forum the last few days. Seems like everyones M8/M9s are getting much love.

I use sensorswabs/pec pads with just a few drops of eclipse.
One batch of 5D's was affected, because canon used a different sensorcoating that reacted with the eclipse fluid on the swab. Pretty horrifying when you see your coating on the swab
Repaircost was almost as high as a new 5D, but eclipse paid for it.
Not that this is the case with your M9, but it reminded me of my problem.
Good luck.

I know, but it really reminds me of that you CAN use a noisy camera with decent results. It's just a lot more work. By the way, I've sold the D700 but no one is interested in the ZF lenses. So I'll have to wait.
I've also concluded that the new 35 Summilux probably is a better choice than 28 + 50 and that it gives good enough bokeh for sort of anything. But it's so damn expensive that I don't know if I want to carry such a thing around.
Luka and Doug, thanks
Luka, you are so right the lenses having the different look!
Doug, yes Thailand is an amazing country
Martin, very nice shot! You are working great shots with the M8
LL, really nice rendering with that 50 Nocti. Another lens on the wish list

Then why not get the pre-FLE 35 Lux ASPH? I think you'd probably prefer the rendering as it has smoother sharpness-to-blur transitions than the newer version. And it's a lot cheaper - I got mine used in mint condition for 20,000 SEK (~€2,200).
I consider that to be my best lens purchase ever. At the time I was thinking about buying the newest version. I tried it one afternoon and I was not sold on what I saw - at least not for 40,000 SEK (~€4,400). The day after I saw a V1 35 Lux ASPH in the buy/sell ad on fotosidan for half that price and bought it. It turned out to be only a couple of months old and never really used by the owner. The dreaded focus shift was well within DOF at all apertures and most importantly, I loved the rendering
As for carrying it around, you should add an insurance to your budget. I've got mine insured through gefvert.se which has a deal with fotosidan. I think it's something like 2.5% of the value of the insured gear yearly and it covers the Nordics. If you go abroad you can extend it to cover Europe or rest of the world.

Hmmm... I've never heard of that.
Could be interesting to note for 5D users, I wonder if it's so with some 5DII cameras?
Hey guys, I'm sending my camera to DAG for repairs and I'm wondering what would be the best way to ship it? Should I ship the camera in the original M8 box or just on it's own? I'm assuming the latter but I wasn't sure.

Wow, that is a really amazing price! Where did you find that? I haven't seen anything listed for much less than 3400 Euro recently.

Yeah, the price was good. I bought it through the buy and sell part of a Swedish photo forum. The seller was an elderly gentleman who had bought it a couple of months earlier and didn't use it because he thought it was too big. So he was getting a 35/2 Cron instead.

I took my arch-nemesis, the 75 Cron for a walk today:
Edit: Argh, the colors in the second shot are completely off..there seems to be something going on with my monitor profile..
