Thanks Charles. Appreciate the warm welcome! Figured i'd have to come over here to see some of you all that i know & admire! I've missed your work! Love the B&W beach gal with the radiant smile & the floral at the top of the page is Stunning!
Steve, like them all a lot, great street photography & superb PP as usual. My favorites are #1 and #2 in particular. Very nice and enriching to see you/your pictures here!
Edwin, Steve and Luka, thanks, much appreciated
Edwin, congrats on the excellent 90 Cron early version! Nice shots
Luka, amazing shots!! I particularly like #3, the sky is amazing. Great PP'ing
Luka, Charles, shtarka1 - Great Pictures...
Luka, seems you're really putting that 28 asph cron to good use!
shtarka1 - Would love to see more from your 135 apo.
Here are a few with my newly acquired 135 Telyt lens from the backyard..
Luka, you continue to amaze me with out of this world composition & color!
LovingLife, Congrats on the 135 Telyt apo. I Love this lens & have no issues with focusing it at all! You images exude deep saturation & 3d iq! Beautiful! I'll dig up some more 135mm shots for ya.
Edwin, much appreciated. Maybe i shall try the magnifier at some point to see if it improves my aging sight! For the most part im not missing too many without it. I'll take any help i can get though!
LL, congrats on the 135 Telyt - very pleasant rendering
Steve, brilliant set. Excellent compositions and tones. #3 is my favorite.
Charles, exellent shots. I love the elegance of the seagull shot. Excellent composition using lines.
Edwin, a bit of constructive criticism if you don't mind. Simplify! The shots of your children have a special meaning to you alone. For the rest of us, well, it's looking at somebody elses' family snapshots. It doesn't have to be that way though. If you focus on the image on a more general level rather than letting the content (i.e your kids) supply the meaning. Look at for instance Ryan's portraits of his kids or Charles' photos of his friends and family of how it can be done well.
I know from your other shots that you have a good eye for photography but I think you have a blind spot for when it comes to family portraits (a very very common thing). They have a meaning to you that they don't to others. However, if you approach family photography like you would any other photographic subject and focus on the image as such I think you'll find you can create photos that have both a personal meaning for you as well as general artistic appeal. So my advice would be to simplify the images. Work with classic compositions, don't include clutter in the foreground and background etc.. i.e the same rules you would use for any other photo
Wonderful shots guys. Too many wonderful shots to comment individually. Been away from this thread, barely any time for photography these days. However, here are some random shots with a new lens - Summilux 24 ASPH.
Too early to draw conclusions about IQ and rendition, but looks like quite the charmer, especially close up and medium focus distances. And even at f/1.4 there is quite a bit of DOF. Has some field curvature, not sure about how well one can shoot landscapes with this lens.
Zero PP work on these, just LR default sharpen and resize. May be I should have run them through my PS sharpening script. Sorry about the poor quality of the shots, but hey its a gear forum
Some from around the neighborhood. Missed focus on the third and the fourth. Both were shot @ (f/1.4, 1/8s, ISO1200).
For the fourth, I tried to set focus by estimating the distance, on the curvy road in the foreground but the focus near throw infinity is short and ended up setting focus in no man's land
