Ron, thank you Agreed, the 50 Lux Asph would be first choice, over the 75 Lux. If you do decide on a 75 Lux, be very discerning on getting on a good copy.
Great shots! I am really liking your shots with the 90 Summarit. The colours are very rich, and there is a lot of depth within. Congrats on the CV 12 too.
My only lens on order now is the 21 SEM. I have been offered a 18 SEM at a very good price, but my preference is a 21mm, as I have the CV external viewfinder for 21/25
Thanks dgenx24. I initially wasn't going to get the hood for the 35 1.2, based on Ryan's great initial low flare results with it, but managed to get a deal on it. Truthfully I find it very useful for handling the lens as it keeps my fingers off the front element.
Thanks Charles, I'm also interested in the 21 SEM and having become a bit acclimatized to Leica now, $3K seems reasonable. It looks like it will address the one thing that bugs me about the ZM21 2.8 at wider apertures - field curvature.
It's actually the 90 Summarit, but it and the 75 are probably similar in character.
Here's another one from the 90. Cropped a bit too. When I shot it I wrote it off and went off to another scene. The blacks in the histogram showed no depth of information, so didn't think much of it and it looked bad on the LCD. When I got it into LR though, I was surprised to find I could actually pull a fair amount out from the shadows. It's still very dark, and like it that way, but considering how I usually avoid doing this at ISO 640, I think it worked pretty well. The full rez at 100% is holding up well too, IMO.
I miss OZ. Sweden is getting old, and cold. (I had friends in Broadbeach outside of Surfer's and spent a lot of time there on one of my five visits down under)
Ron, very nice shots. Really like the 90 Summarit shot with the light behind the tunnel. I too was thinking about the LTM CV 12....I see Cameraquest has some without the VF for $550 brand new.
Charles - beautiful shot, love these types of shots
Nice ones dgenx24 and Charles! dgenx24: no, not NYC. Hamilton, ON. Ryan... that's interesting about Cameraquest... I haven't checked their site recently. Might make sense if he's trying to clear stock. Also some out on the web suggest buying the new 12mm viewfinder anyway, so the old lens and the new finder would be more palatable at that price point. I will have to ask when I'm next at Photo Village if they'll match. As cool as the old 12mm finder looks, it's pretty big and has no bright lines. I definitely prefer the newer version, though not its price.
Edwin, nice scenes from your photo walk in Cebu City. The CV35/1.2 looks sharp. and I like the natural color pp on those.
Najibs, excellent shots with the CV 35/2.5.
dgenx, very nice set, the flare works on these type of shots, very nice feel to them.
Charles, love those 75Lux shots, especially the first one. Nice B&W tones too. That last 75Lux shot is interesting, I can't find the focus plane but I do like the composition and colors
Luka, love that X1 shot with the red and blue door!
Ron, congrats on your CV12. Looks like we have a CV lens fiesta in the past few pages? Really like those 90 Summarit pics, you're making good use of the lens.
