Nice shots Dan. I shoot jpeg and DNG and I've seen a lot of that yellow effect in the first image in sunsets in the jpegs. Not sure why the jpegs over do that.
Really nice shots Shaun! Paul Yi, originated the thread, and I am sure that it was intent to include all M series and all lenses. I really like the rendering of the 35 Cron Asph
Here are two shots taken in my backyard as the sun was setting. Both taken with the Zeiss 50 sonnar 1.5 at 1.5. I was going for a sort of impressionistic style. Let me know what you think!
Thanks guys! There is some talent here, that is for sure.
Charles, I read that documentary you did awhile back. I can't seem to find it now but I really enjoyed it.
Here is one I just scanned from the film I picked up today.
I have a few rolls from this. It is some interesting stuff.
Oh, and regarding my M8.2....Yeah, I sold it basically, because I was scared. I was scared of it. Scared to do a wedding with it if I got the call. It happened and I went back to my 5D and 85L. I quickly came back to the leica but now I am looking at the film approach. I love the M8 but I just don't know if I like the crop.
Anyone shoot weddings here with stricly M's? Most say it can't be done but there are a few out there. Be my encouragement.
Thanks Shaun, the brief spiel should be still there
I love this shot! I really like the rendering and colours!
I feel there is a place for both RF's and DSLR's. There are some serious pro's using both, on the GetDPI forums, with a multitude of perspectives that are excellent reading.

Sean Reid shoots weddings with M's. Why don't you take your M6 along with your 5D and shoot the M6 when you can. You're not just taking one body when you shoot weddings are you? If so, you're braver than I'd be.

Brett also shoots weddings with just Ms, M9s in this case. There are others. Fantastic results. In general, I would say that those who use Ms for weddings have more of a reportage style of photography.
The 5D is gone. I got rid of it. The lenses I used on it, 35 Cron, 85L, and 80 summilux all were manual focus and didn't give me as much joy as using the Leica.
I know the 5D, or DSLR's have there places but I really want to "expierence" rangefinders. I want my this to be a true extension of my arm, which it almost already feels like because of the build and my style of shooting.
So, I guess what I am saying, those people like Sein Reid, that shoot nothing but M's at weddings, they will be my inspiration on how they pull it all off.
Now on a second note. I am seriously contemplating which second body to get. The M8 has dropped below $2000. I'll figure that one out when it presents itself.
Thanks guys.
Oh, Thrice, with or without the head turn, that one looks great!
Thanks Rod I have been fortunate to get a good copy.
I just read a thread this afternoon about a pro, and his advice that it takes about 2000 shots to become intuitive and proficient in using a fast lens, second nature when its dark, in getting the focus right....interesting thought.

I definitely agree with this. I found myself struggling with my 85L in the beginning. After awhile, albeit, manual focusing, I was getting what I saw in my head.
Now, if I could just get my hands on a nocti for a deal. I would like to give that one a go.
