Thanks guys. Even if I didn't buy the M9 to be used for nature photo this was an perfect example for me how much easier it is to bring along my M9 instead of my dslr when like this we're going mushroom picking. I had it in a strap under my jacket and I could easily swtich betweein picking or shooting.
The red mushroom shoot was ok when it comoes to sharpness considering how hard it is to do close, low down, portrait shots with a wide aperture while doing focus-recompose at an angle
Any tips on how to best do a focus/recompose at close distance with wider apertures?
Charles & Rod, great b&w on this page. Both Rod's last photo of the discussing couple and Charles industrial portrait gives a feeling of being there.
Joe, even if you love the red mushroom don't eat it
Rod, its 7am here and you make me want to grab a beer! Very nice shots from the Oktoberfest. The 2nd and 3rd pics with the 50Lux are my favorite from this series. Love the B&W conversion on#2 and and details on #3. Is that your new 50Lux Asph?
Charles, you captured the environment really well. Nice one! Seeing the wood in the background, is he a woodworker, furniture maker, boat builder or other? You really make me want to go and get a M9 now..
Joakim, I agree with you on the M being so much easier to carry that a SLR kit. Here's an example, I was out for a walk with my kid on his stroller and brought the M8 along. I would not hesitate and bring the M8 out almost everywhere I go but would think twice with a dSLR . M8 Nokton 50/1.5
Thank you Joe The photo was of a metal worker.
Nice shot! I really like the 50/1.5 Nokton.
After seeing the Fuji X100 being leaked, I would see what other surprises may be waiting this week. If Fuji get is right engineering wise, this will be one great product. I am so pleased that Fuji is listening to the needs of serious photographers.
If Fuji, get the details right, with an excellent lens and with the latest generation sensor, they will have an outstanding camera. I am still wary, as we have had a flood with the m43's and the Sony NEX 3/5, almost there but not quite!
The engineering and ergonomic layout of the camera, is like yeah, this is what I have wanted all along. Not everyone wants important functions caught and hidden in a maze of menus, and this why aircraft engineers still have analogue gauges and controls.
The positive feedback on the Fuji X100 has been nothing short of amazing, and is enough I am sure to make most other manufacturers rethink about their direction. If Fuji then decide with the X200 with interchangeable lenses, and even a FF?, I'm sure they will have a cult following for the next decade.
